From Hard Battle To Easy Wins

Two quick wins at Hearthstone today -- my Gul'dan faced a Malfurion who didn't take proper precautions against minions, and my Rexxar faced an Anduin who made a few silly decisions. Still, felt good to get a double win for a change -- and it leveled up Rexxar and fulfilled some quests, so that was nice.

DragonVale News: Almost maxed on on fireflies for the day, and the Ninth Island is being summoned as we speak -- I started it this afternoon at lunch so it would be ready for Saturday and a potential Double weekend. Still no Ruby from my breeders, but my Dream attempts pair saw fit to give me another Rainbow. This is acceptable -- there's an achievement for having two. And the more money to earn, the better -- I'm back down to the 100,000,000s after buying the Ninth. I should welcome my new Dawn dragon to the family sometime tomorrow.

Fanfic news -- completed my edit of Chapter 1 of "In the Land of the Dead." May post it tomorrow, may wait a couple of days to start on Chapter 2's edits and see if I can't reduce the time between chapters a bit. (Or I may see if CoriOreo wants a sneak peek, since she's been open to reading stuff for me before. . .) We'll see. I do have something ready for Forgotten Vows Friday on my tumblr, so no big if I don't get it up in time for that.

Not much else to report on -- just a week and a day of school to go! Then sweet sweet freedom -- to try and find a job. I will be sleeping in the Saturday immediately after, though. I want that much.

The Dawn came with the name Waxy, which sounded weird for such a cool-looking dragon. I renamed it to Alba, which means "Dawn, Sunrise" in Latin. I'm entertaining the idea of naming the Dusk "Twilight" if it doesn't come with something cool. :p

So if the weekend isn't a Double, I'll be getting the Duskfall Edifice by Sunday. If it is...well, I'll adjust the math when I know for sure. I'll have to keep in mind what my total for tomorrow should be since I'll be up at the barn.

Ray won a Gold, threw Loki into Earth.

With Kairos' help I just need 14 more from food today.

I'm like 3/4 of the way to 40. Maybe I'll hit it in the next day or two hopefully.

DC: 573,160,491; G: 713; FF: 77 after turning in the 825 for the Dawn Dragon. Total for today should be 91.

Edit: Rabble rabble! Double Weekend started naturally after I've gotten Fireflies already. Ugh...

Mine is named Bendis -- I get the feeling someone is a Brian Michael Bendis fan? At any rate, I'm calling him Rise. My Dusk will be Set. :P

Yes, I saw -- double double, toil and trouble, keep earning fireflies because it's a double! (No, seriously, you should still be able to get more despite reaching the 40 limit earlier. I did that with my eggs, and I got an extra 40 after selling a couple more this afternoon.)

Good luck getting to 40! My island's due tomorrow afternoon!

You're right (yay!). I was able to get more from breeding and I guess the Party Hats reset already so I was able to do that. I did one upgrade to the Gemstone Island and then spent gems for food to max out the gem Fireflies.

I kind of lost count of how much I got from where...I have to go to sleep and I don't quite know if I'm short or not, but oh well. However, I only need 50 more Fireflies to get the next reward, so I'll be able to get that tomorrow. I'll redo my math when I get up. So the Firefly tally now is 225.

Nice work. :) I'm up to 210 myself right now, though I think I'm gonna come up short on the day, honestly. I'm pretty damn tired and I'm not getting much from habitats at the moment. I do have an accidental Dragon Fruit that I could speed up with gems, though. . . Ah well -- double thing runs all weekend, and I suspect it will return next weekend as well. . . Just gotta keep trying our best!

I guess I'll just come here since, well, I'm here.

Loki won a Silver and I threw Tempest into Metal.

I got the Duskfall Edifice but the game crashed as I was trying to share to Twitter and Facebook so I lost out on those two gems. I'm 17 away from the Dusk Pedestal (and am missing 8 from cash and 4 from treats that REFUSE TO SPAWN! so I may factor them as a loss) so if anything I'll be able to get that tomorrow.

I re-did my math assuming that next weekend and the last weekend of the Event will be Doubles. If this is so, then it should be possible to collect enough Fireflies for all of the rewards. I did factor in spending gems but ONLY on the Double Weekends (and without spending gems, I'll manage all rewards but the last, so...). I'll fix my numbers as I collect the Fireflies and manage to max out the day or wind up short.

Nothing much else happening. Nothing exciting being bred and I'm still like 3/4 of the way to 40 (it's eeking ever so slowly closer).

So that's all.

Yeah, everything's fine -- what happened was first I was watching the latest NC review; then I was playing Hearthstone; then I went over to housesit and ended up sitting outside for a half-hour wondering if I was actually staying while my Mom chatted with some visitors; then I got so caught up in keeping up on my RP replies that it wasn't until I was going to bed that I realized I'd never actually updated on DW. ^^; And by then I was too exhausted to consider turning the computer back on.

Sorry to hear about the crash, but nice work on getting the edifice! I got that this morning too. 75 FF for me after getting that -- currently halfway to the max for food and about 3/4's for habitats. I've got two eggs to sell later that should max me out for egg-flies -- but wouldn't you know it, both my breeding pairs are making epics! The Ruby breeders are giving me a THIRD Rainbow (to go with my hatched one and the one in the Nursery), and my Metal/Plant breeders are giving me a Platinum (which I may in fact keep just to even out my two Treasure habitats since there's currently only five Treasure dragons). So tomorrow I'll have to buy eggs to get the fireflies. . .was thinking of buying a bunch of Plant eggs, sticking them in my Large Plant, feeding them up to 15, and then selling them so I can at least get one Silver Shrine.

Interesting. . .I actually didn't get the max yesterday -- too tired to stay up and try to coax fireflies out of the low drop rate. I did end up spending 18 gems to fix that Dragon Fruit mistake, so that at least put me only 20 under for the day. I can make up the difference with gem spending this weekend -- more Giant habitats ho! XD

I'll give you an update on totals and who won in the Colosseum later. Right now, I should probably clear some bushes from my new Ninth island to get those fireflies. :)

Anyway -- Army got a Gold, and I've got Stiller in Metal. DC: 191,002,896; G: 445; FF: 223 (maxed on habitats, eggs, and clearing stuff; almost maxed on food). May buy a Giant Habitat or at least upgrade part of the Gemstone Island later.
