And I have so much to catch up on. . . I suspect my first act of 2015 (holy crap) will be to clean out my e-mail inbox as best I can. At least I'm caught up on Forgotten Vows's tumblr replies. . .

Okay there's a bunch of stuff I've been meaning to get to over the past couple of days, so let's take it all on now in one year-ending rush:

-->Have started Snuff, am enjoying it just like every Pratchett story. I've been squeeing like mad about how adorable Young Sam (now six) is, and how cute Sam and Sibyl are, and how hilariously awkward Sam is with the staff. . . They're old friends now, I swear it. I know that sounds odd, but -- I've been reading these books for years. I was there when Sam met Sibyl. They are old friends, and I'm delighted at the chance to catch up with them again.

-->Last night was my belated birthday celebration at Dave & Busters, which was a night of fun bookended by horrible and annoying moments. To whit:

  • Started things off by not being able to find Mom and Dad when I left work because I tend not to think of my route to the building in terms of street names. We spent a good couple of minutes having to play tag with each other over the phone when it turns out they were waiting right on the street I go across every day to head up to where I work. *facepalm* And then we got all turned around in Providence traffic trying to get to the mall, so that took longer that it ought to as well.
  • Dave & Buster's itself was fun, though. We had a nice meal there -- I had my first Philly cheesesteak, and it was really good! And my parents surprised me with a piece of one of the most DELICIOUS pieces of chocolate cake I've ever eaten. Seriously, it was moist, the icing was just the right amount of gooey, it had chocolate chips and chocolate drizzle and yuuuuum. Then we went around and did the games -- focusing on the ticket ones at first because the main reason for going was to win enough to get me an iPod shuffle (I'd asked for a new MP3 player for the holidays, and this was our plan to get it). We got it thanks to some high scores on Fruit Ninja and Raptor Captor and the like. I got it all set up today with music and stuff. Mom and I also did a round of co-op Mario Kart, and we all tried this "Dream Machine" game/ride that sort of acts like a motion simulator where you have to shoot things. XD Really fun!
  • And then, right before we left, back to being awful -- because on our way into the bathroom, Mom lost her car and house keys. Apparently they hadn't fastened right onto her keychain. Somebody saw them get picked up, but of course couldn't tell us by who, and after some fruitless searching and questioning of the security guards (the one in the office couldn't even be bothered to ask if we needed help!), we were forced to leave without. Fortunately we had spare keys thanks to Dad, but that was NOT how I wanted to end things.

-->Half day today at work -- quiet as anything. But somebody brought in some half-decent peanut brittle, and I hit Subway once things were done for a Meatball Marinara on my gift card, so that was nice.

-->Had a scare with my computer speakers earlier -- I was just sitting down to ice cream and Linkara's Top 15 Worst Comics I've Reviewed (and some of the choices are not as obvious as you might think -- and he disqualified the one that probably would win the lifetime achievement award), when I turned on the video and noticed the ad's sound was so staticy you couldn't even hear it. I thought it was the add, but then Linkara himself was all staticky. . .and YouTube, while better, still had noticeable pops. I was deeply irritated with what I felt to be unacceptable wear and tear in a brand-new computer --
When I did a final test with some of my music, and found nothing wrong.
Result? Problem was apparently with Firefox, or perhaps Blip -- I closed out the browser and opened it again, and things are fine now. The hell. (I also had my DW background disappear on me briefly, until I changed my theme and then changed it back. Again, the hell.)

-->Comparing the beginning of the year to the end in DragonVale and seeing that we've come a loooong way baby.

And now it's almost time for the ball to drop, so Happy New Year! *blows noisemaker* I will catch up with everything then, I promise!

I was just visiting Secundus again for research and I noticed one little niggle that I'm not sure if you're gonna change or not, but Astrid's Deadly Nadder is named Stormfly. I'm not sure if you knew or not and my nature compels me to say it, so there you go.
