Weather was semi-warm but rainy today -- seems that we just can't win in that regard. Bleeeh. However, I'll take anything that melts snow at this point.

Big news of the day is in DragonVale -- not only have I earned enough for the first Monolith, I ALSO recently got the Third Snowflake! Yaaay, miracles do happen~ I technically still need its pedestal, but I think that can wait for now. Currently giving the Seasonal a go so I can get as close as possible to a completed dragonarium.

Other news of the day: "Triskaidekaphobia" Chapter 3 is up! Usual "this is creepy and fucked up" warnings apply, though most of the chapter isn't too bad. The end, though. . .let's just say there's implied oral activities that we don't actually see and leave it at that. So, if you're brave enough, it's on FF.net and on AO3. Enjoy!

Right now, though, it's really about time I went to bed. Weekend almost upon us! . . .and I have to do my taxes, but whatever. There is still Helloween goodness to watch as well :)

First Monolith came with the name Speedy, which is the exact opposite of what it took to get the thing. I looked on Wikipedia for names of actual monoliths (I kinda wanted to name it El Capitan after the mountain that Capt. Kirk climbs in the fifth Star Trek movie but it wouldn't fit without taking out the space - ElCapitan - and that just looked weird). I took Runestone from the section for "Monumental monoliths".

I also managed to finally breed that third Ovalith that the Goals wanted me to do and I also bred a Spring that will become a pedestal later.

Since it's currently up in the air when the next Double will come around (if at all), I'm not gonna do any egg collecting until this afternoon just to be safe (except for the ones from friend...they don't change if a Double hits unfortunately). I've actually gotten lucky with habitats and getting almost all of them on the first sweep (minus like from 2 through 8). Food, not so much. I usually quit grinding when I get more than what I've caculated. Edit: Not a Double. Hopefully next week since it's the last one.

See, I don't factor in the eggs from friends because I don't know if I'm gonna get any or not so my totals only include breeding, cash, food, party hats, Kairos, the Colosseum and the Hidden Egg. That way if/when I get some from friends it helps beef up the numbers. I actually had 40 from there this morning so that's 40 more than what I calculated I would get.

Hm...I think that's it other than the usual squick from *goes up to the post to copy the word* *pastes* "Triskaidekaphobia".

I think I'm doing quite well(ish) on this AL/Data story, which finally has a title! Now this may be partially Antoinette's fault for watching Big Hero 6 about two or three times a week, but there's a song by Fall Out Boy on the soundtrack called "Immortals" (give a listen, it's so awesome it plays once during the movie and then again during the credits, hehe) and there's the lyric "I try to picture me without you but I can't" and I thought it fit how AL is feeling and thus that became the title, lol.

*snork* That's cool -- and it certainly fits well with the backstory of the Monolith dragons, being magically animated stone and all. I named mine Detritus, after everybody's favorite troll officer in the Discworld (currently rereading one of my favorite books, Night Watch). Thinking of naming the second after the Watch's first golem member, Dorfl -- he's made of clay, but close enough.

Congrats on your breeding! I'm thinking I might try for a Lunar Eclipse pedestal, once I can remember the correct combo for one.

I imagine Easter weekend would HAVE to be a double. *nods* I try not to do any major collecting on potential double weekends, but my schedule demands a quick skim of food and habitats at least. Whether I do better with food or habitats changes from day to day with me (today it's food, I've maxed out).

I have one steady friend, so I can always factor in stuff from her, at least. Other than that -- well, I consider anything above the stuff you just listed as a bonus. I'm just happy to have an island to help with things this time around -- though I had to skip a couple days of clearing to make sure I had enough for the last week and double weekend. Still, better to be short now than later!
