Low-Key Halloween
Oct. 31st, 2015 10:41 pmOnly about twenty-five or so kids came to our door -- maybe a little less than last year? I dunno, I wasn't counting. But that was still a pretty good number, honestly. And I saw a kid in a Marty McFly costume, so that was great. :D My own costume was the "nice Alice" version of my Alice dress (clean apron & white hairbow) -- simple and comfortable. I find I've come to appreciate that more as I've gotten older and had less time to dress up for Halloween.
I did do plenty of Halloweeny things today, though (beyond snacking on our Halloween candy):
-->Finally cracked the first section of the first Dollhouse chapter of "Forgetting You" -- what, that counts! It's a creepy place! Anyway, that's looking better now. Let's see if I can keep it up!
-->Watched Linkara's 7th Anniversary show -- more Clone Wars kookiness, of course. Maybe not particularly Halloweeny, but the storyline bit at the end was appropriately creepy.
-->Watched NC's Top Ten Halloween Guilty Pleasures -- it's technically a Top Eleven as he usually does, but he pulled the "top slot gets its own review" business again. Am slightly peeved that CB ended up on the list, though I can understand his points about it not being a masterpiece. I don't think the characters should have been called "bland" so much as "a bit underdeveloped," though. Honestly, sometimes I think being made in stop-motion held this movie back -- I've seen good stuff in the storyboards that never got expanded on.
-->Looked up Trick R Treat on TV Tropes, since it was in NC's list there and I was curious.
-->Posted a double dose of Song Saturday with two of my favorite Halloween songs: The Glee Thriller/Heads Will Roll mash-up, and Flyleaf's cover of "What's This" from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I also plan to listen to "This is Halloween" before the night's out.
-->Watched the last episode of "Halloween Wars" with the parents. Wrong team won, in my opinion, but I will give both teams props for turning out work that actually looked good. This year's series was no great shakes -- the judges insisted on raving over a team that was HORRIBLE right up until episode three -- but it was also nowhere near as bad as last year's offering. At least you could tell each team was putting real effort into their pieces -- and also had real TALENT. No displays that were falling apart here!
-->Maxed out my candy total for the day in DragonVale -- aaaand I'm pretty sure I successfully bred the Pharaoh dragon, mwahahaha. Now I just have to see if I can get the Omen dragon during its brief re-release. . .
-->Posted the Inkwell Halloween party! Yes, that's back! After skipping last year, I was determined to do it this year. Pretty proud of everyone's costumes too -- go read it just to check those out. :P
And currently I'm catching up on my tumblr RP with the Halloween posts I queued up last night. Which I should get back to -- after grabbing one last fun-size Snickers. :P

Date: 2015-11-01 11:07 pm (UTC)I'm not sure yet if I'll be able to get all three prize dragons since as of now I need 7000ish more and I'm not sure if I'll get that many before the event ends on the 5th. Though you're right...Bring Em Back isn't that far away.

Date: 2015-11-02 01:54 am (UTC)Three? There's four, isn't there? Trick, Ortreat, Spectre, and Lycan. But I hear you on having enough treats. . .I'm pretty sure I'll max today, which will take me up to 24,025. . .so yeah, I need the same as you, and it's unlikely I'll get it if it ends on the 5th. *sigh* Well, maybe I'll grab three, and see if I have enough for the Spooky habitat afterwards.
