crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)

Work was a little on the dull side, I'm afraid, as there wasn't much in the way of gifts to put on. . .I spent most of my day working on obituaries. Getting to the mall afterwards was all right, if horribly hot and muggy -- high today was like 93, but it FELT like 97. I'm very glad I grabbed a little bottle of water from the fridge before I went! Mall itself was fun -- I got both issues 9 and 10 of the main BTTF comic (they also had the second Citizen Brown comic, but -- I still can't get myself to read more than a few pages of the first because WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO MY BELOVED GAME), did a circuit of Dave & Buster's (new games you could play once for free, including a new Ghostbusters game! You aim a target at ghosts and then bust 'em with ping pong balls XD), and got myself a mini Peanut Butter Cookie Crush Blizzard at Dairy Queen (vanilla with large chocolate chips and peanut butter cookie chunks, very tasty).

But when I left the mall. . .well, first it started raining almost the instant I got out the doors, and as my zipper on my bag had fallen apart this morning (as in, the zipper pull fell off), I had to clamp that to my side to keep the rain from getting in until I could find a covered spot to take my umbrella out. Second I was in a rush because I was worried about missing my bus, the 3:38 -- and it never showed up, leaving me sweltering for a good half-hour. And then when a bus did appear at 4:10, we encountered a slow-moving parking lot for the first half of our trip, courtesy of a major accident on the highway. I was peeved, to put it mildly.

Movie night still happened with our variety pizzas, but it didn't happen with Inside Out -- that one didn't reach the library in time. Instead, Mom and Dad got a bunch of different movies for us to pick from, and we ended up watching Mr. Peabody & Sherman -- you know, based off the old cartoon? It wasn't a masterpiece by any means, but it was all right, and had some funny bits. (Patrick Warburton is arguably the best thing about the movie -- Steven Colbert and Mel Brooks, by contrast, were criminally underused.) Pizzas were good, though I liked the barbecued chicken one best. Om nom nom. . .

And now here I am, hanging out in the AC while playing a bit of catchup and preparing to do some late-night tumblr queuing. As you do. Another hot one tomorrow, but at least I get to stay home through it. Night all!
