Harold the Gangrel Is Not Good At Combat

crossover_chickAKA I started the main quest line of "beating up the guys who screwed Mercurio over regarding the Astrolite" and died three times to the first three thugs because I am unskilled and also because I am shit at getting my feeding attempts to work right. Fortunately, once I DID manage to kill the first three guys coming at me (through judicious use of a baseball bat, hiding behind a water heater, and Bloodheal), getting into the house and taking out the rest proved to be a lot easier. Hell, the main baddy, Dennis, barely got a chance to fight back before Harold distracted him with illusory ravens, jumped him, and drained him dry. And then used his computer to look up surf reports. XD I also got the starter for the "Thinned Blood" quest and parked Harold outside the back entrance to the clinic to start the quests in there. . .but thinking about it, I might have him go back to his haven first, to check his computer. There should be an e-mail from Lacroix about a third quest I can do in there, then I can a) free Lily, b) snag the werewolf blood, and c) save Heather all in one go. And also blackmail the doctor on duty for free money, because that's a thing we do. :P
In other news, did two pages on Chapter 7 of "In The Land of the Dead," where I completely threw out the conversation about Bonejangles offering to take Lizzie to Elder Gutknecht I had before and replaced it with one that had the same thrust but made tons more sense. I'm also thinking tomorrow will have another major change -- namely, the elder Liddells joining their daughter on the trip to Burtonsville. Because, really, why WOULD they stay behind? It's silly, and besides, they deserve to meet the rest of the Land of the Dead just as much as the others. And Lorina deserves to be smug in person when Bonejangles confesses to Lizzie, and Lizzie realizes she actually returns his feelings. XD
Other notables of the day:
-->Another hot and sticky one, to the point of us having an Air Quality Alert day down here. Ended up skipping my walk and staying largely in my air-conditioned room to be comfortable. Tomorrow's supposed to be a little better, except for the possibility of thunderstorms. So fun. Weirdly enough, I visited about five different weather sites while trying to determine the temperature this morning -- and all of them had something different, ranging from 73F to 90F. Two agreed about the air quality alert, though, which is what convinced me to stay in.
-->Watched Linkara's Star Trek: Deep Space Nine comic review (about SUPER MOLD -- no, seriously) and the NC's The Chipmunks Movie review (it looks as bad as most everyone has said) -- both amusing. Also watched Helloween's latest Bayonetta set, since that came out early this Saturday, and that was GREAT. :D Bayonetta goes flat like a cartoon character if she's squished XD Darn it, this game and Bloodborne really make me want to get my hands on some consoles. Slowly but surely turning into a proper gamer here. . .
