It was a pretty low-key day for me -- felt almost exactly like a Saturday until it came time to catch up on my webcomics. I keep having to remind myself that it's Friday. XD Ah well, I got everything read that actually updated today, and I posted my birthday fic for my friend, which she (and some others on tumblr) enjoyed. I also:

-->Wrote a brand-new bit to start off the new Chapter 5, introducing a new, more villainous reporter character to contrast to Tailor, who's excitable but does have some journalistic ethics

-->Had a long driving lesson, which started off a bit poorly (didn't take some turns well, forgot to use my turn signal getting over once), but went okay after I got my feet under me again. We stopped in the parking lot to practice backing up a bit, since I'm having trouble with it -- it's tough! I can see now why so many new cars have a camera system in place so you can just glance up and see what the fuck's behind you rather than having to check three mirrors all at once. Since we DON'T have one of those cars, though, just gotta keep at it. (Don't think it helped that this week stymied me practicing my driving after work at every turn.)

-->Played some Vampire -- Harold the Gangrel has completed the Grout mission, reported back to Lacroix, and gotten the museum mission, which I promptly went off to fulfill (after spending some experience on extra sneakery and hacking). Since I'm using the patch, I got to see a technically new area -- the actual front of the museum! The base game just dumps you in via the roof, but this way you can actually see what the place looks like a bit better. It's nice. :) Harry's managed to get past the raptor scare, across the main floor of the museum, and into the basement area (although I had to reload once when I got caught by a guard -- er, sort of. He came right up to me, went into "alert" mode -- but didn't actually SEE me despite me being crouched right in front of him. I tried using a distracting discipline on him to sneak away, but took too long and got proper caught), but now comes a tricky bit -- avoiding guards AND security cameras. I gave it a shot, but got caught by a camera and had to reload. He's currently parked under the stairs just outside the main room -- I'm going to look up some tips and tricks for vampires not blessed with Obfuscate to do this mission. (Once I play a Malkavian or a Nosferatu, I am pumping SO many points into that discipline. . .)

-->Updated my Firefox properly after discovering a new port of LJ Juggler (from Chrome) for it, which replaces the now-defunct LJ Login (which is why I was holding onto an older version of the browser). LJ Juggler so far working fine -- keep your fingers crossed!

-->Watched Linkara's latest episode, the origin/first appearance of Dr. Strange! Which -- is basically him going into a dream to help this guy who turns out to be an asshole, and having to call on his master for help. Not exactly the most heroic beginning, but at least it's a better start than some. Actual origin story was better, as it fleshed out his character more. Funny to see a plotless AT4W episode after so much plot over Halloween, but hey, poor guy could probably use the break. And it was great to see him fire up the proton pack in response to Dr. Strange astrally projecting himself and grin evilly.

-->Watched Helloween's first Haunting Ground extra's video, which was him in the cowgirl outfit (which is basically a bikini with chaps). Very amusing to see poor Fiona wandering around like that -- and even more so when it turns out she has a very effective gun in that outfit! Helloween was very pleased of the short work it made of the first stalker! Of course, it wasn't enough to totally save him from pain, as he ended his video with yet another death. . . He's planning on trying to get the special New Game + "fuck this shit I'm out" early ending, which I'm looking forward to.

-->Also watched his video on Planet Coaster, a new Rollercoaster Tycoon-esque game now out in beta on Steam. It looks fun! He showed us a pirate-themed park, some of the rides you can plop down, some of the fun stuff you can do with manipulating the terrain and such, and then built an amazing death coaster of doom XD Much as I love his terror during good horror games and his snark during bad ones, seeing him just having fun with something is nice too.

-->And watched Zero Punctuation on the new VR tech for the Playstation, which can be summed up as, "can be fun, good for walking simulators and vehicle games, but the graphics are kinda shite and damned if it can't make you really nauseous." That last is enough reason for me to stay away from it, at least for now. I'm perfectly happy with my current level of virtual reality immersion, thank you very much.

And now I'm doing the RP thing, because why not? Long weekend, I can do a bit more of that. Though speaking of which, there's some replies I didn't get to because a tumblr post I was working on last night took a lot longer than anticipated (incidentally, did you know November 5th appears to be the junction point of the Forgotten Vows space-time continuum? So many stories ending on that day, and one starting on it. . .). So I'd best get to those. Night all!
