Post Storm Monday

crossover_chickAnd it turns out, me and mine were extremely lucky, storm-wise -- no power outages, and a minimum of branches down. Though we did have to take a slightly alternate route to work, thanks to one of our usual streets having a ton of branches on it (there's a couple of old trees there). Two of my coworkers had power outages, and the sheer number of people who lost power across the state seems to be indicating they'll be without power for a while. :( Not a good situation. I'm very thankful my neighborhood wasn't hit very hard by this storm.
The work day was fairly quiet -- slowly but surely working my way to the end of this DeceasedFinder thing. Encountered a toilet that wouldn't flush, though. >( Man, I hope maintenance fixes that soon. . .on the plus side, cleared out my inbox with ease, got a post ready for tomorrow for the Inkwell (gotta have a Halloween party this year!), and pre-drafted some future stuff for my tumblr. Productive lunch break, is what I'm saying. :p After work was more driving practice -- backing up by the local hospital, then getting a bit lost as Mom took me down some side streets trying to get us home. Turns out the street she was thinking of was in a different spot. We made it back in one piece, though. Current plans are to go up to Elmwood on the 1st, since I have that day off (yay All Saint's Day!) and practice lane changing. Should go well!
Wrote some more on "Fixing You" after that, which was good. Getting back into the groove with this story. . .and even though the chapter I'm currently working on is probably running overlong, I've gotten a chance to see just how much I've cut out, and -- yeah. I had a LOT of unnecessary chatter in there before. Think the new version's working much better. :)
And then it was just the usual catch-up on websites and such. Nothing major to report. Time for me to hit the sack so I can be relatively rested for the shenanigans tomorrow! Hope it all goes well -- at least I know my costume still fits! Night all!
