Minor Brainmelt Friday

crossover_chickMore of the big maintenance project at work, and -- ugh. I tried to find ways to eliminate the worst of the potential system duplicates, but it's just too big a job, I fear. I managed to find some, but I think the rest might just have to be put into our database so we can do the darn mailings thing. *grumbles* Part of it's my own fault -- I want to fix all the things, and I really can't, because I would never do anything else and nothing would get done. It's just -- frustrating. If only the parishes kept better lists! At least it's the weekend I don't have to think about it for two days. . .
The trip home was a bit on the wild side too -- had one car force their way past me while we were all getting on the highway, and another try to do the same from the opposite side at a different merge-in point. And then, while we were making our way along the main drag (which had some pretty heavy traffic today), the guy in front of us backed up to let a guy get into a store's parking lot. Fortunately I was well away from him, but yikes! O.o And there was also a huge food truck that just cut all the way across instead of getting in the middle turning lane like he was supposed to. . .we got home just fine, but still. Hate that. >(
And then Mom accidentally dumped a whole chicken breast on the floor while she was cutting it up for dinner. We still had plenty for supper, fortunately -- Mom was actually hoping to save the other one for lunch -- but as you might imagine, she wasn't particularly happy. Kind of been one of those days.
Fortunately, the rest of my evening hasn't been too bad. Wrote some more on "Fixing You" -- Victor's safely back in the Land of the Living now. Just about ready to wrap up this chapter, and then -- well, I dunno. Do I show them in Oxford or don't I? It feels a bit superfluous, but -- I dunno. I have a few days to consider it, at least. *shrug* Caught up a bit on tumblr -- I'm ahead on my VictorLuvsAlice queue, and my ValiceMultiverse one wasn't overwhelming. Answered a few comments, left a review on a story on AO3 that I reread today and realized I hadn't reviewed before. Watched another 60 Seconds video because I had the time. Thinking I might just go ahead and watch the next two parts of the "Wags To Riches" series The Sim Supply has put up. Free up a little space in my Watch Later queue and vicariously enjoy the Sims 4 pets. :)
