Happy Birthday To My Mom

crossover_chickA pretty decent day all things considered. I gave Mom her $25 Michael's gift card (it's a craft store she likes) and regifted her the birthday balloon they gave me a month ago. XD Hey, it lasted this long, why not? She was very happy with both. After we'd all had breakfast and gotten ready for the day, we headed out on our little bowling excursion. We ended up trying "duckpin" bowling, which uses smaller balls and pins -- I was horrible at it. ^^; Mom was somewhat better, and Dad was the best. Although all three of us ended up throwing a lot of gutter balls. . .we agreed that we enjoyed normal bowling a lot better. Experience was not helped by the fact that the place we went to was badly understaffed and prone to technical glitches (we ended up having to wait for the pins to be properly reset three times over two half-hour games -- which doesn't sound bad, but when you pay to play by the hour and the time starts from when you first come up to the counter. . .). We didn't have an awful time, but we won't be going back.
After that was a trip to the grocery store for necessities, then home to watch the latest QI. Mom and Dad then went ahead and watched some movies while I did a quick room clean, wrote some more on my comfort story, and watched some OXBox Hitman action (another elusive target, which all three of them tried to poison. Only Andy succeeded, and only on the second try) and some Sim Supply "Rags To Riches EXTREME" (James is basically turning The Sims 4 into a busking simulator in a desperate attempt to earn capital to finance a retail store). Then there was dinner, during which we tried the LEGO Ninjago thing Mom had found -- she'd thought it was a movie like The LEGO Movie or The LEGO Batman Movie, but instead it was a TV show that took itself way more seriously. Ended up shutting it off when we realized it wasn't what we'd hoped it would be and found a "best of Jon Richardson on 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown" compilation to amuse us instead.
After dinner was more Sim Supply, catching up on "Wags To Riches" (we had an episode in which James bummed around the house and tended his garden, culminating in him making tons of money off dragonfruit, and then one where he finally got his second clinic up and running, no thanks to his desire to make it look pretty XD). And a "Fun With Shorts" which wasn't even a full short but DID feature a terrifying nightmare puppet! So it had that going for it. :p And then after that I got up the latest prompt for "Scenes From Secundus" -- the "hot cocoa" one, "Ordinary Life", if you're curious. And now I'm queuing up replies on ValiceMultiverse before -- well, I might go ahead and watch Linkara's latest episode before heading to bed. Had some trouble getting to sleep last night (my CD player is a little bitch and kept suddenly stopping in the middle of songs), and woke up earlier that I wanted this morning. Gonna try and rectify things by going to bed a bit earlier tonight and hoping I can get a full eight hours.
So yeah, better get that sorted. *nods* Night all, sleep tight!
