crossover_chick | Weirdly Tense Saturday (Reply)

I think something was going on with my parents, though I never really got a chance to ask. Dad was doing a lot of sitting around staring at the wall (not a good sign), and they just seemed in bad moods for most of the day. Not sure what happened, but it didn't make for the most comfortable of Saturdays. Kinda glad they went out a couple of times and let me get on with things on my own.

Round up of the day's activities:

-->Usual cleaning

-->Pretty much entirely rewrote the first part of The Technicolor Phase -- after completing the others, I wasn't very happy with it. New version is much better and more dynamic

-->Played some BioShock 2 -- spared Grace Holloway, so she turned around on her opinion of me and sent me some robot buddies to help out in battling the splicers. Got out of Pauper's Drop (and finally got to turn the music back on, as going to the next area finally reset it), and I'm currently in Siren Alley, preparing to fight a mad preacher who worships the Family and Jack Wyand, protagonist of the first game. Already I've done a LOT of reloading from previous saves -- back to deal with Big Daddies who throw bombs! And THIS type also throw little mini-turrets that start firing on you almost the moment they touch ground! Fortunately, one of the things I did before entering the new area was grab myself Winter Blast, and it turns out freezing these Daddies is a very useful way of not dying while you wail on them. Currently bumming around with my new Little Sister, preparing to go on our first Gather. Which I actually already tried, and basically got really badly bum-rushed, so -- gonna REALLY pull out all the stops for traps and the like this time. And make sure I set some on the upper level too -- so many splicers get me just because I'm not used to having to look up! Ugh. . .

-->Watched the last AT4W episode (on a decent if not great superhero comic, the IBots), a RabbidLuigi list on game-breaking glitches (and one that could break your COMPUTER if you weren't careful), an OXTra list on games that did not transition well to 3-D (and oh, there were so many, and they so hurt the eyes), an OXBox list on movie video games that messed up important moments from said movies (or, in the case of the Dracula that starred Keanu Reeves, just transformed it into "Keanu Reeves kung-fu kicks all the things -- also, yes, an early BTTF game was on the list!), a Fun With Shorts about a talking coin purse that teaches kids how money works (why were the 70s so weird), and a Helloween video on a game all about doing radical tricks on a bike while cycling wildly down mountain sides and through forests (it's more fun than it might sound). Busy YouTube day, yus~

-->Reviewed the latest, rather amusing Corpse Bride fic from Player Piano, Dinner at 8, which makes me want to do more with Victor cooking stuff (even if the story is Victoria-centric)

-->Got my VictorLuvsAlice queue done up to Tuesday (need to get my Sims pictures and Valicetines ready for Wednesday!)

-->Doing the RP thing on tumblr, as per usual on Saturday nights

So yeah, I guess it wasn't too bad a Saturday after all. Time to get back to that last item on the list -- night all!
