Friday Again
Feb. 23rd, 2018 11:24 pmSomewhat better one at work, if only because I had less people asking me to do stuff and thus more of a chance to focus on specific projects. I got another slew of things to do at the end of the day, but that's a problem for Monday. Major victory of the day was finally getting something done about those labels I owed the processing company, and getting like 85% done with the mailing files I need to send out Monday. So that's good, at least.
Writing also went good today -- I had the usual bit of trouble with phrasing here and there, but I got the beginning of the Ruined Barkis fight, before he actually becomes Ruined Barkis, to flow pretty well. Writing Victor giving him the business was nice. :D Of course, now Barkis is going to become a corrupted version of himself trying to either poison or stab Victor. . .on the other hand, Victor's going to grab the poison weapon for himself by the end of the fight, so that's good.
Main other activity of the evening has been watching YouTube videos:
-->Deligracy doing one of James's old tutorials (about how you get a skylight in a roof (you use a glass awning and build the roof around it) -- Deli snarked playfully on his instructions and struggled mightily with making the roof actually look good)
-->A "Fun With Shorts" about creepy puppets teaching a boy who lost his dog how to properly telephone people to look for said dog (also featured plenty of images of the dog just avoiding getting hit by cars/trains, because that's what we need in a short about how to use the telephone)
-->Helloween's latest Silent Hill 2 set -- we're out of the Historical Society/Prison/Hellscape and into the Lakeview Hotel! After killing one of the other guys Silent Hill called in (guy was threatening to kill us, so -- self defense?), rowing across a super-creepy fog lake, and running into Laura again only to discover that Mary didn't die three years ago -- it was a couple of weeks ago at best. It's great to see this classic of the series in person, I gotta say, and Helloween's really getting into it too. He does a little segment at the end of each set where he dissects what we've seen in it, and it's pretty fascinating to listen to. Good times!
So that was fun, at least. Now I just gotta get my queue done for the Valice Multiverse. Once again, I am inundated with asks. . .ah well, nothing for it but to dive right in. And then see what tomorrow brings! Night all!
