The Extremes Of New England Weather
May. 27th, 2018 11:32 pmYesterday: Mostly clear, super-hot, really very summer
Today: Cloudy and drizzly, rather chilly, a lot closer to early spring/late fall
Seriously, I don't GET how the weather around here can just turn on a DIME like that! *shakehead* As you might imagine, it was kind of a "lazing around the house" day -- my parents did a little renovation on the bathroom (taking down a big mirror and shelf my Mom hated), while I:
-->Messed around on TV Tropes (as you do)
-->Looked up more info on Sims 4 Seasons (no picnics, sadly, and people are worried about that very flat snow we saw in the trailer; I'm still reasonably excited though)
-->Wrote some more on "Secundus 2" (up to the climatic jump from the runaway train after the red log blows -- after that and taking down Barkis, it's all over but the crying)
-->Watched some Sim videos -- a new house build from Sim Supply/James that's half underground (the bedroom is in the basement, the living area on the ground floor); a build from Deli where she renovates one of James's tiny builds into a multi-story home (it came out looking cool!); the original tiny build (because of course :p); James's first episode of his Mad Scientist LP (Scientist James is not having much luck making friends, and had to spend five of his last six simoleons on a can of soda to keep from starving at work); and another episode of "Super Sim" (Max is slowly clawing his way through the Popularity aspirations, mainly by randomly introducing himself to people and throwing not-very-good parties).
-->Played some Sims 4 myself -- discovered that, no, having two Sims in the same household with the same active career doesn't mean you can control both of them at work. *grumbles* Ended up following Nikal, whose thing popped up first -- she had a good day, and both she and Emmett got promotions, so that's good. I discovered the lab had a basement I'd never noticed before! Observant woman, am I. . . And I discovered the big display shelf has a plaque you can "engrave" (aka put some text on for Sims to read). So that was neat. I also got ALL my pictures ready for tumblr updates, because occasionally I am good at thinking ahead.
-->Caught up on my Helloween -- him largely failing his way through Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (even the box couldn't save him from one instance of stealth fail), and him exploring the fleshy, nsfw environs of a truly creepy hell in Agony (he's not fond of the stealth system, but he's quite intrigued by the story and the design).
-->Did some queuing over on ValiceMultiverse, as it was quiet over there -- nobody active on my threads, just a few asks. That's all right then.
-->And just reblogged an updated version of somebody's fanart for "Finding You" -- A new and improved 'fresh to Houndsditch' Victor
So yeah, not a bad day, just a bit of a lazy one. Tomorrow's supposed to be at least a little better, weather-wise -- not so nippy, anyway. Hopefully I can get out for my walk, so long as it's not raining. Until then, I have some inbox stuff to answer, and then -- eh, not much. Perhaps I'll see about another episode of "Super Sim." Just nice to know I don't have to get up for work tomorrow. :) Night all!
