Not Exactly The Saturday I Wanted
Aug. 18th, 2018 11:15 pmMe after a late lunch: Okay! Now that I've gotten up, helped out with the dishes, cleaned my room, and eaten, it's time to settle down into some writing! Then I'll play some Sims 4, and then I'll watch some videos, and then--
Thunderstorm coming over us with lots of lightning: OH HEY I'M GOING TO BE HERE FOR LIKE THE NEXT THREE HOURS
Yeaaah. I ended up turning off my computer for a while because we had some scary-close lightning flashes and I just didn't want to risk it (mainly because my laptop needed to be plugged in). Spent the time reading some TV Tropes on my iPad. Which was fine and all, but -- *sigh* I wanted to be more productive, you know? Especially since I'm going to be out pretty much all day tomorrow, and then back to work on Monday. . .
Weird thing is, I did get the three main items on my "to-do" list at the end of last night's entry done. I got my room cleaned up; I wrote some on "The Technicolor Phase" (editing one of the big ficlets -- a Victoria POV of the altered "the dead invade her and Barkis's wedding reception" scene); and I played Sims 4. The family had a pretty chill day around the house -- literally, Fall's started and the temperature has switched to cool. Emma did complete the child Artistic Prodigy aspiration, which was pretty awesome. :) And the whole family took a short trip to the local museum to look at art so Victor could progress in his Painter Extraordinaire aspiration. He's also coming along well in his vampire training -- and his alien pregnancy. Belly is getting pretty big now. . .the moodlet descriptions for it are pretty funny, though. Stuff like claiming the stomach pains are just something he ate, or he's packing on a few pounds in a "phase." Yeah, you keep telling yourself that, Victor. . . At least Alice keeps painting masterpieces, and her books and Victor's song and garden produce are raking in decent cash. Hell, Victor himself painted a masterpiece today! Wasn't worth much, as he's still fairly low painting skill, but every penny counts! The next time I play should be interesting too, as my Sim version of Halloween (Spookfest, as I named it) falls on that day. . .
I also got a chance to watch a couple of videos on YouTube, both Helloween. One was an update on his channel (updates to his equipment, prepping for a new Saturday LP, asking people to leave comments and likes as his YouTube stats haven't been the greatest lately), and one was the new Saturday LP he spoke of -- Metroid Prime! I don't know much about Metroid, but I like hearing Hells gush about things he likes while playing nostalgic games, so I'm on-board. Plus it's supposed to be one of the classic Metroid games anyway, so. . .looking pretty solid so far, with Samus exploring an alien planet and collecting back the upgrades the game took away in the opening level. I happily anticipate more.
And I got up the next Scene From Secundus: Victor vs a toaster, with a dash of Eddie Izzard references. We all like those, right? And now my personal queue is set again up through Tuesday. Gotta get the RP one sorted tomorrow evening as I get back into my regular schedule. . .
But that's for tomorrow, AFTER Canobie. Hopefully it's as fun as some of the commercials make it look. . .and it's a two hour ride, so I definitely have to get up early. Time to empty out the inbox and hit the sheets. Night all!
