crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

Look at me, actually managing to snag 10:04 posts. . .but hey, it's the anniversary of Temporal Experiment #1, and of Doc whisking Marty and Jennifer off to the actual future. That deserves a bit of extra care and consideration. Now hopefully I don't muck it up with the important November dates. . .

As for my actual Friday, it was -- all right. Drive in had an interesting incident where, while getting on the highway, some asshole in a pickup truck with a trailer attached (looked sort of like a boat trailer) nearly sideswiped me with said trailer -- and then proceeded to hit the school bus in front of him when I managed to sneak in behind him. It wasn't a bad hit -- sort of a bumper-car like bonk -- but it made a hell of a noise, and I was like "HOLY SHIT!" Obviously, that tied up traffic for a bit, though I did manage to get around them and make it to work on time. Neither truck nor bus seemed that damaged, and the last I saw of them, they were headed for the nearest exit together. Still, didn't seem a good omen for the day ahead, huh?

Work itself was all right -- nothing particularly exciting, just trying to chip away at our pile of roster maintenance. We do have a temp who managed to take care of a bunch of returned mail we had sitting around, but we still have a lot of "regular" maintenance. . .it's just -- there's so much to handle, and not enough people to do it. *sigh* At least now it's the weekend and I don't have to think about it. We'll see what happens on Monday.

Evening's been all right (bar from some awkwardness when I came home to find the driveway blocked by Dad's truck) -- had supper, discovered the normal version of Countdown is super-boring after you've seen the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown version, and edited another Valice Shipping Week short. I'm probably going to have to stick with those for a while, since they're going up next week, but once I'm good to go, I can get back to "Fixing You" properly. :) I doubt I'll have it finished by the end of the year, but I should get pretty close. I also watched some fun videos:

-->A really weird short from "Fun With Shorts" that was basically bad voice-over of two Robert Frost poems over overly-long autumnal nature footage with a wonky soundtrack (Josh made some great New England weather jokes)

-->Raggy's bedroom from the Bigwallet Mansion Build series by The Sim Supply -- it's a very cute room, and I learned about some cool new wallpapers/paints! Damn, I really don't play around enough with the building options in this game. . .

-->Two Yandere Simulator videos featuring new content by Jay from the Kubz Scouts -- the game has psuedo-cutscenes for the when the police are summoned and for when someone gets in trouble with the guidance counselor. Jay did a lot of killing to see all the new visuals. And there's a goofy new easter egg too XD He was having fun.

-->A video about Simlish and how tons of artists are thrilled to sing in it for the games. Katy Perry is the obvious example, since she got her own stuff pack in Sims 3, but I didn't know OK Go had also recorded a song for that installment! Actually, there's a TON of unexpected artists -- apparently a lot of punk rockers have happily done songs in the "made-up nonsense language," as the video creator accurately put it. I'm glad of it, though -- I like Simlish songs, and Sims music in general. They have great soundtracks, much like the Alice games. There's a reason I have a good chunk of the Sims 4 soundtrack on my "Favorite Reading Music" playlist.

And then it's been largely just catching up on my usual stuff and preparing to answer comments/do any queuing I need to do. Which I need to get done sooner rather than later, sooo. . . Also have to get up by 9 tomorrow -- we've got a guy coming over at 10 to give us a roof quote (well, if he doesn't cancel because of bad weather -- we're getting a fairly nasty storm tomorrow, but we'll see). So yeah, under a slight time crunch here. So time to get to work. *nods* Night all!
