One Of Those Mondays

crossover_chickIn a rather weird sense -- you see, there was a protest "log off" today on tumblr, against the new content guidelines and the tumblr anti-porn bot that flags a ton of safe for work stuff instead of actually doing its job (remember me talking about how one of my Sims posts, featuring nothing more raunchy than libraries and Sakura tea, got flagged? I was able to get it unflagged, but still). I decided to participate, figuring a day off the website wouldn't exactly hurt. However, a lot of my favorite sites to go to lately are tumblr blogs, so I was a little worried that I might slip up today and just click on a tumblr link automatically if given the chance.
I -- was not given the chance. Apparently the universe decided to help me out by keeping me away from my computer. Obviously I can't full-on tumblr during work hours, but I usually visit my own blog and a couple of others to read posts on my lunch break. Today, I instead went out to lunch with a couple of my coworkers. I also visit the site and some other blogs I enjoy reading right after I get home from work typically. Today, I instead had to drive my Mom to the dollar store (she doesn't like driving in the dark currently -- eye troubles) to pick up a bowl for cookies she'd baked for my office, then got sucked into trying to help her print something for a friend's Christmas present (which didn't turn out right no matter what we tried, mostly because her printer's kind of shit). I mean, I guess I'm GLAD that I was able to avoid accidentally breaking my ban, but -- I was kind of hoping to do some OTHER stuff while online? *rubs eyes* Then again, I am sort of stuck in "kinda tired and vaguely bitchy" mode thanks to PMS. . . Who knows how productive I would have been had things gone normally.
I did get a few things done:
-->Edited up a gift fic for the upcoming holiday -- the one where Victor and Alice are building a gingerbread house. It's -- not going very well. XD Kind of inspired by my family's rather lackluster attempts at gingerbread houses. The important thing is that you have fun! As Alice reminds Victor over the course of the story.
-->Watched Helloween's latest Splatterhouse (2010) set (he has returned from illness! And promptly become a Failoween, getting run over by meat grinders and jumping into holes that turn out to be bottomless pits. And getting absolutely WRECKED by the even harder original Splatterhouse game he unlocked as a bonus. Ah well. . .also features a Lovecraftian guardian creature sitting inside the Statue of Liberty. Fun!); and the latest OXMas challenge (Andy had to kill either Jane or Mike (he chose Mike) in Fallout 76, then survive for ten minutes as a wanted man. . .wearing nothing but his Pip-Boy and underwear. XD He came SUPER CLOSE (having easily outpaced Mike, who was getting into trouble elsewhere), but then some other players on the server managed to hunt him down and kill him in like the last minute. So no point for Andy -- time to see if Mike will shine tomorrow!). Good stuff!
-->Got the majority of the text for Wednesday's Sims update on tumblr drafted -- hey, since the protest also involved stopping my queue for the day, I wanted to be prepared for the catch up! I don't know if this protest will make anyone at tumblr rethink some of their stupider decisions, but -- well, participating makes me feel a bit better, at least.
So yeah -- I feel out of whack with my usual routine disrupted like this, but at least a few things got done. And now it's time to empty out the inbox and head to bed. Back to normal in the morning. Hopefully my stupid body will fish or cut bait with my period too. . .I hate this stupid "it's almost here and screwing with your mood but you don't know when it's going to START" period. Uh, no pun intended. *shakehead* Night all!
