Somewhat More Stressful Tuesday

Significantly worse traffic (though not as bad as I feared, just because we only got a dusting of snow that was already melting by the time I left), a few more phone calls to take at work, and being pulled off what I'm trying to do to help my coworker -- ironically, often while SHE'S trying to help ME. Plus, as usual, not getting done as much as I was hoping for. . .on the plus side, I DID get a big chunk of the checks put on the system, and got some important stuff in the mail, so that's good. And I've got another batch of checks to put on tomorrow -- the short day! Still planning on starting Burial At Sea then, though my plans for Thursday have changed -- I'm gonna head up to the mall and Dave and Buster's. I WAS going to go later in the month, around MLK Jr Day weekend, but after some thought, I decided the mall would be a lot QUIETER on a weekday that most other people are not going to have off, so it would be the better time to go. Have a wander around and use up some of my gift cards, that's the spirit. :)
Evening was pretty nice after I got home too:
-->Got a short giftfic written up for my friend Moose, who's birthday is Thursday -- be rather weird to get Christmas but not that! And I came up with what I feel is a funny idea, so. . .
-->Watched another hbomberguy video, this time about why speedrunning is awesome. First part was largely more Dark Souls fangeekery, but he did cover the main points about why speedruns are cool -- they represent a neat challenge (or set of challenges, as he points out with the prevalence of different categories of speedrun, from "do whatever to make the game quicker" to "you have to 100% this bastard without glitches, go ye soldiers, go and die"), they often show off some interesting background stuff in the game, and it's just nice to see someone do something so cool in a game they know inside and out. Speedrunners getting excited when they set a new personal best, or better yet, a new world record, is awesome. :) Makes me want to seek out a few speedruns of favorite games now. The fastest AMA one I know is about 45 minutes; A:MR, an hour and a half. Maybe I should see if there's any faster ones now? Hmm. . .
-->Got my Valice Multiverse queue sorted, yay there. And I've got my queue all ready to go on VictorLuvsAlice too, at least for tomorrow. Still sorting out a Thursday post, but I've come up with an idea related to my recent BioShock Infinite adventures. . .
So yeah -- as per usual, just gotta clear out the inbox and I'll be done for the night. Gonna be a busy day tomorrow (at least in the sense of 'I really want to get this big batch done and out of the way'), so I need my sleeps. Night all!
