Slowly Getting Back To Myself
Jan. 13th, 2019 11:17 pmHad another slow start morning, but I blame getting really into some TV Tropes articles over my period this time. That's what usually keeps me from getting going first thing on weekends anyway. But I eventually made my bed and put actual clothes on, and got a few things done:
-->Okay, this one got done YESTERDAY, but I forgot to post the link because tired and periody: the "hay" prompt on "Scenes from Secundus", a simple dialogue-only piece about doing your research when it comes to potential customers. XD
-->Watched an OXBox video about left-handed video game characters and why they're southpaws (from reasons given "so the character is properly facing the player when they're doing their thing" to "it helps with split-screen co-op" to "it's just for solving a time travel puzzle by forcing twin brothers who had different handedness to switch places posing and creating a statue, meaning the statue will have its arm on the other side and you can kick someone out of a room"). I also watched, in a rare moment, both "Show of the Week" and "Show of the Weekend," which is OXBox and OXtra, respectively, talking about new games coming out or that they've been playing recently (this was my main reason for watching "Week," as it was largely about an HD rerelease of some older Hitman games, and Hitman content is the main reason I watch these guys now XD), reading and reacting to viewer comments, and doing little challenges (in this case, "Weekend" had Andy quizzing Luke on how he'd handle various Umbrella PR disasters in the Resident Evil universe, as Resident Evil 2 REmake is coming out soon). Fun times, I have to say! They're a delightfully silly group and I always like watching them crack up at each other. XD
-->Played some Sims 4 -- added a downstairs toilet/laundry room for Emmett and Nikal's place, then FINALLY actually fired up live mode! They had a good day -- Einstein was cured of a case of Advanced Swamp Mouth (poor pupper), Emmett had a pretty productive day at the lab (and has probably made a new friend, Gavin), and he and Nikal went to Del Sol Valley on a Love Day Date (completed both it and the holiday successfully, good for them -- it was a near thing for a minute with the date not counting most of their socializing as, well, SOCIALIZING -- only Romantic stuff counted, apparently). I'm actually currently getting the pictures sorted for the upcoming tumblr update. . .and finding myself just a HAIR over four updates. Gonna have to see what I can cut from earlier bits -- I don't want to do five updates if the last one is going to be literally just two or three pictures.
-->Finished off Chapter 12 of "Fixing You," and started Chapter 13! :D Yes, the great split has happened, and I am content. I had a bit of trouble coming up with a good end for Chapter 12, but I managed in the end. Now we're moving into the first boss arena -- The Church of Broken Hearts. You'll see why it's called that later. :p
-->Watched Helloween take on the Resident Evil 2 REmake "One Shot" demo (a demo they've released where, when you start up the actual gameplay, you only get 30 minutes to play a chunk of the "Leon Kennedy" campaign in the zombie-ridden police station. And then that's it, you're done. This sounds like a strange idea to me, but apparently it's gotten semi-popular?). He did pretty well, though he didn't realize his knife was breakable and thus proceeded to ruin it pretty quickly slashing zombies to death. Got himself a Mr. Shotty and blew off some heads, though. He's promised an LP in the future, which I am glad of -- I may only be a Resident Evil fan from the outside, but his Let's Plays of them have generally been good fun. :)
-->Watched some epic Dark Souls 3 kills (it's amazing how well some people get to know certain bosses -- one LPer managed to kill a dude with just their FISTS), then Iron Seagull take a blast to the past with The Sims Makin' Magic -- good reminder of all the things I liked about that expansion pack. :) Seriously, if the Sims 4 team just wants to give us that pack over again, with prettier graphics and an updated spells/charms system, I'd be all over it. It was a delight and I want my magic users back, please. (Or, well, MORE magic users might be more accurate, what with the vampires and their powers. . .I need to have my mad scientist pair use their SimRays more often too.)
-->Got my Valice Multiverse queue sorted, yay me. Also drafted a bunch of stuff on both blogs to facilitate future posts, so that's good.
Okay -- just gotta clear up the inbox, and then it's time for le bed. Full week of work this time (barring any other surprises) -- but it's promptly followed up by a three-day weekend, so I think I'll live. :p Night all!
