A Birthday Out

crossover_chickMom's birthday, as I mentioned yesterday -- I got her a nice card, and we all went out bowling, then out to lunch. Took us a bit to find the bowling place (the quickest route was unavailable, because of road construction, and the backroads way we tried turned out to be rather hard to navigate), but it was nice once we got there -- if busy! I think we arrived on a tournament day, as there were a lot of serious bowlers around, with their own custom balls and everything. Some of them tried to give us tips -- which backfired with me, as I got so caught up in trying to follow all the advice, I consistently mucked up trying to actually throw the ball. ^^; Wasn't until I switched to a lighter ball that I really started to improve. But we had fun -- bought two hours, which turned out to be enough for four games. Dad as usual did the best, while Mom beat me -- at least twice, and I beat her once. I forget what our scores were on the very first game. Mom's already making plans for us to go once a month. I'm game! Nice to have a sort of set activity to come back to every so often. :)
Lunch was at Twin's Pizza, and decent enough -- we got a communal thing of fries, and I got a meatball and sausage sandwich. Dad, who got the same, said his meatballs were a bit dry, but I didn't find any fault with mine. Then again, my sandwich was so soaking in sauce the bottom split wide open, so. . . We also got deserts -- I got a Chocolate Lover's Spoon Cake, which was very tasty but just a BIIT too much. Kind of overstuffed myself trying to finish it, and my stomach's been complaining a tad bit. Should be good to go to work tomorrow, though. Overall, a very nice Mom's birthday :) It's good when we can all get out as a family and just do something fun together.

A) The next episode of Super Sim (Max was back in Selvadorada, finishing up the other Jungle Adventures aspiration that he missed the first time because James forgot about it XD But he got it sorted in the end, clearing out some temples and magically blessing and cursing people with relics. Next episode may be a "recap" episode as it's the 100th official one, and then we'll start Season 2 with the Seasons and Get Famous skills and aspirations!)
B) Helloween's latest Doom (2016) set (Doom Guy is back in Hell, and giving all the demons a bad time as he searches out his little Doom Guy figurines :p Short set, but a good one if you like seeing various demons getting slaughtered in fun ways with various guns)
C) Helloween's latest Resident Evil 2: REmake set (by contrast, a very long set as Helloween was having a blast running Claire around the police station, trying to solve various puzzles while not being chomped on by zombies. He was only partially successful at this, getting her killed once while running around trying to get back out of the storage box a set of bolt cutters he needed to open a door. But hey, at least he snagged two of the medallions he needed, along with a precious red gem and a grenade launcher! Which he was openly sad wasn't a shotgun. XD Mr. Shotty will just have to wait another day to make his appearance. . .)
-->Played BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea -- all the Little Sister holes are now closed, so it only remains to get to the central heating unit and -- well, get Sally out of the vents. Had to kill a lot of splicers along the way -- I would like to say that I'm getting better at it, but I did die a couple of times. Though I'm getting a little smarter about using plasmids -- and being able to switch my guns around old-school style helps too. Damn, I missed that wheel. . . I also got a new gun with the help of the wiki (as I couldn't find the closet it was locked in) -- the Radar Range. It shoots microwaves. As you might imagine, it's a pretty horrible way to go! But I have little sympathy for the splicers constantly breaking my shield and filling me full of holes.
-->Finished up the "Alice Brown" chapter of "The Technicolor Phase" -- getting the ending just right was tricky, but I think I've managed. So I'm still a chapter ahead of posting, as "Emily Purple" will be going up this Wednesday evening. . .hopefully I can keep that momentum going!

Okay -- time to clear out the inbox and hit the sheets. Full workweek ahead, bleh. Hopefully I'll be able to get a little more caught up on things and there won't be quite so many minor crises. Keep your fingers crossed! Night all!
