Back To Form Wednesday
Feb. 27th, 2019 11:10 pmThat title is surprisingly apt, considering the big thing of the day was me finding a bunch of forms that should have been put in the system but hadn't because they'd been stuck in a folder and I hadn't taken a close look at them what with everything else I had going on. Since the forms were all about pledges that needed to go on the system. . .yeah, tomorrow's going to be largely about putting those on and moving early payments appropriately. Along with contacting some people as necessary for clarification. . . *sigh* It's too easy to get totally stressed out in that office. Especially when my coworkers start stressing out too. I pick up on it, and it becomes a vicious cycle. At least my boss seemed happy that I found the darn stack of forms. (I get the feeling I beat myself up mentally a lot more than I should about this sort of thing -- my coworkers DO seem understanding that I'm under a pretty heavy load. It's just -- everyone seems to be depending on me, and when I so rarely have a quiet day where I feel like I'm catching up. . .)
Well, at least tomorrow will be a bit of a shorter day -- we have snow overnight, as predicted, and everyone's jumping on the delay bandwagon. One and a half hours for my work, which suits me just fine. Let the roads get cleared and the snow stop before I head out. I'm not interested in fighting the weather any sooner than I have to. And it gives me a chance to sneak in some extra sleep in the morning, yay.
Other things of note:
-->The penultimate chapter of "The Technicolor Phase" is up: Victoria Green! Alice throws possibly the world's most awkward love confession Victoria's way. XD "Victorish" indeed. Just one more chapter to go, and this one's in the can. :)
-->Watched another building video starring The Sim Supply and SimGuru Romeo -- he seems to have become quite friendly with the guy! Today's video was supposed to be about furnishing the weird "modern-style bunker home" they created in their last building video (with James trying to be less "bossy") -- they got the kitchen done. XD Along with a secret lab in the "sunroom" portion with the new Strangerville stuff. Plus they expanded out the balcony to fit a slip-n-slide out there. XD It was delightfully chaotic, is what I'm saying. And means they have to fit in a third video now to actually FINISH this darn house. XD
-->Watched Helloween's latest Metro Exodus set -- more wandering around, checking out question marks on Artyom's map and getting into skirmishes with the locals. And watching the locals glitch out in fun ways -- the animations in this game are not the smoothest, and sometimes characters will do things like float off of roofs, or crabwalk into buses. XD Helloween picked up some great loot, though, along with clearing out some bandit and monster nests, braving a thunderstorm, talking to some villagers on a pilgrimage (who simply politely asked him to shove off before he ruined it with his mere presence), and saving some other villagers from a slave ring (and getting a key to some fun stuff in the bargain thanks to a somewhat more sensible native). And finding a tape full of rage against Silantis, the cult leader, who apparently sent someone to their death by electrical anomaly. The dude promised he'd be waiting for Silantis in Hell despite not believing in an afterlife -- that's how you KNOW someone is pissed. A fun set -- I feel like this is, in a weird way, good prep for my eventual Fallout 4 playthrough. Just gotta finish off Burial at Sea first. . .
-->Looked up times The Lego Movie 2 would be playing in Providence Place's movie theater, since I kind of want to see it in theaters, like I saw the first one. There's no morning showings, it looks like, but there is an early afternoon one -- easily doable on a Saturday. I find myself a touch torn, though, as it's the beginning of March this weekend, and I really do need to get my taxes done. I don't think that'll take that long, but. . .do I do them this weekend, and hope that showtimes don't change massively next weekend? Do I go see the movie and do my taxes next weekend (I mean, I'll still have time)? Do I do both this weekend, perhaps by doing taxes Sunday? Decisions, decisions. . . I'll think about it more as we wrap up the week. I'm certainly not getting up there until Saturday. (Actually, wait, isn't it supposed to snow again on Saturday? I'll have to watch the weather. . .)
And that's about it, really. Time to wrap things up with what's in the inbox and hit the sheets -- gotta take my extra sleep where I can get it. :P I hope you're all having a decent night -- sleep tight, all!
