A More Simmy Friday
Apr. 19th, 2019 10:39 pmA much warmer one too, though the weather was more unsettled -- big gusts of winds, and it looked like it was going to pour the vast majority of the day. I toyed with the idea of going out for a walk, but it didn't end up happening. :( Though I did outside for a bit -- had to drive the car back when Dad brought home his truck from its inspection (had to have a few repairs -- bit of a bite out of the wallet, but not as bad as it could have been). And I had my windows open the majority of the day -- only closed them up once it started actually raining. So that was something, at least.
Again, a good chunk of the day was spent with YouTubery:
A) Watching Helloween's latest set of Metro Exodus, clearing up a few side locations of loot and hostiles, retrieving some gun mods from the crane we were on before, and then heading back to the train to check on our NPC friends. The water situation has become desperate, so our next main mission is to head up to the well and take what we can from the bandits. Incidentally, Helloween's left the Baron he found by the cave alive for now -- will probably go back and shoot him later, we'll see. :p
B) Two OXBox/OXtra list videos. The first was one about times where going for 100% completion, or completing a difficult goal, got you a "joke" reward (such as Grand Theft Auto: Vice City giving the protagonist a T-shirt reading "I completed Vice City and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" (which is actually pretty amusing -- also untrue; you unlock infinite ammo and double car health); or Bruce Campbell saying that finding all the hint tokens in Spider-Man 2 will make them reset and say "something different" -- he means that very literally) or just outright mockery (like Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World getting Jeff Goldblum in to encourage you to go outside). The second was about gorgeous tech demos that made people wish they were video games, including a cool steampunk city landscape for the Oculus Rift VR system, or a Star Wars stormtroopers short to show off Nvidia's new "ray tracing" tech. Ah, it always looks better than what we ACTUALLY get, doesn't it?
C) Post vidya gaming, it was time to dive into some Sims content! Starting with two comparison videos -- one showing off how Sims encountering and reacting to celebrities has changed between 1, 3, and 4 (since Sims 2 never did celebs or fame!); and one showing off how the maid has changed over time (not much, beyond becoming more interactable and her French maid costume being replaced with a proper dress).
D) And to wrap up, The Sim Supply's latest episode of "The Super Sim Challenge!" Which involved him AGAIN getting into the Military career at JUST the wrong time. XD It's like he just can't win when it comes to that one. . .on the other hand, he did successfully complete the acting career; get promoted before he ever attended a day AT the Military career (hello work at home task!); gathered a few pieces of evidence from coworkers at the (newly replaced) StrangerVille bar; and revisited his old violin store to have something to do and cleaned up all the rotten grilled cheeses still sitting there. XD Also, the toddlers aged up -- Romeo is a Rambunctious Scamp who's Creative; Minimum is a Social Butterfly who's a Glutton. XD And their needs are shit as James wasn't there to force everybody to take care of themselves. Ah, Sims. . .
In my own Sims game, after getting my patches installed, making sure all my custom content was reported working, and being interrupted by the aforementioned "having to drive the car back after Dad picked up his truck," I dove back into the Van Dort family! I -- promptly needed a bit of time to reorient myself. XD Hey, I haven't played my vampires and their batly teleporting ways in a while! Didn't help that the moment I got back in, I discovered BOTH pets were sick. Sheesh. *facepalm* I decided to avoid the stress of trying to coordinate a double vet visit and instead had Victor visit the vet solo to get some Wellness treats to cure them. There was also gardening, laundry, lots of painting, Alice finishing a new book, the WEIRDEST glitch where Victor went to feel the love from Scraps and somehow got the dog STUCK TO HIS HAND (I eventually managed to click on Scraps to reset him) --
And, most importantly, Eliza became a toddler! A very naked toddler. XD Poor thing grew up in just an alien diaper at the tail end of fall. I quickly popped into CAS and got her some proper outfits. Also got my first look at her disguise -- she makes a cute human baby too. :p I also bought her some toddler stuff, and gave Emma a violin since she's in a "loud" phase. A busy day, to be sure! And my Sims barely got out of the house. I've actually got even busier days planned for the near future. . .
And for my writing, I finished up the first draft of that scene where Alice gives Victor his second drink of her blood. ...Yes, I know, but I find it quite sweet, honestly. :p Then again, I have a mind control kink and a desire to twist what would normally be horrible into something cute, so. . . And I did move that and "As Long As You Love Me" into their own separate documents. I need to gather up all my notes on Londerland Bloodlines from my tumblr too, and figure out a rough timeline. I don't care what the Wiki says, there's NO way this game takes place over 11 nights. At least it's somewhere to start, though. . .
Right now, though, I have my usual Friday Night Thing, so I need to wrap this up, answer some stuff in the inbox, and hit the road, so to speak. See how tomorrow goes -- hopefully I'll get a little farther in Fallout 4 without kacking it. . . Night all!
