Plans Go Awry Sunday
May. 5th, 2019 11:06 pmNot all of them -- we made it to the breakfast as my parents intended. Pretty loud and busy place, though that was good for the charity, at least. And breakfast wasn't horrible -- I got a slice of ham, some hash browns, some french toast, and what I THOUGHT was a chocolate muffin but I think was actually bran and raisin. I actually liked the ham the best -- the hash browns had some spice on them I wasn't fond of, the french toast was kind of bland until I got some dipping syrup, and I already detailed what was wrong with the muffin. But it was for a good cause, and we bought a bunch of tickets for the raffle, so maybe we'll win something. Who knows.
After breakfast, though, we went up to the bowling alley -- only to find the place packed. And the guy at the counter said they were bowling by the game and probably wouldn't be heading out for at least an hour -- which I believed, since at least one group had brought food with them. So we ended up heading home again. Gonna try again next weekend on Saturday, see if that makes any difference. We do enjoy going, we're just hoping to find a less-busy time!
After that, the parents tried heading out to an auction preview, while I stayed home, read some TV Tropes, and got the next Scene From Secundus up. I was even able to put it into my queue so I could just run it uninterrupted on tumblr! Also started a load of laundry (because I had some workout bras that I wanted to dry, and I figured I might as well put in some clothes that needed washing while I was down there), though Mom and Dad got home before I could do much with it. We had lunch, and I returned to the computer to complete the following:
-->Watching another Yandere Simulator video from Jay -- what can I say, they're interesting. He busted a few myths and made a go at completing the alphabet killer challenge (killing everyone in the school in alphabetical order) at 0% sanity with the new animations -- didn't work out well. :p
-->Playing through some Fallout 4 -- console-commanded Dogmeat back to my side, then set out through the wilderness to find that damn settlement I was supposed to be helping for Preston Garvey. And, this time, I actually DID find it! Helps that I've figured out the map a bit more. Found a few other places along the way, including a quarry (which apparently holds a dark secret) and an old railroad crossing (infested with ghouls). I've updated my quest for Tenpines Bluff (gotta go sort out some raiders at a power plant), and visited USAF Satellite Station Olivia to get the locket back for the Abernathys. This involved a LOT of dying on my part, as one of the raiders (Ack-Ack) had a damn MINIGUN. I eventually mastered the use of the sniper rifle I'd picked up enough to blow her head off (literally) and took the Minigun as a trophy. And then had to give it to Dogmeat when I got too overloaded to run. XD I also made sure to raid every possible thing out of their damn hideout, because fuck them. Fast-traveled back to the Red Rocket station to complete the session -- gonna give the locket back to the Abernathys next time I play, then fast-travel back to the station to see about any future goodies before looking for those raiders to finish off the other quest and start again on the main one.
-->Watching a new Hitman 2 escalation mission from Andy and Jane (Mike is on holiday (in the real world), possibly dead (in the OXBox verse))! The theme of this one was killing people via a poisoned fumigator (no, you couldn't just turn it on, the exterminator is actually a goodie-goodie who uses knockout gas because he doesn't like to kill things). The first level had a lot of targets, but they were all in one particular house, so the only wrinkle was finding usable poison -- fortunately, someone in the neighborhood has a murder basement. It's literally called that in-game when you discover it. XD The second level has you SAVING a particular previous target, meaning you've got to get him out of the house somehow before performing your murder. And the THIRD level has you saving this one guy, and replacing him with the nosy next door neighbor in your murder list. Andy and Jane did pretty well, though Andy did accidentally kill some non-targets in the first level by forgetting to turn off the fumigation device before leaving, and then had to knock out a bunch of people who'd spotted the unconscious body of the neighbor as he was dragging it over to the house to dump it for murderization. XD Good times~
-->Writing some more on "Secundus 2" -- the gang has seen Hill Valley, and they are -- less than impressed. XD To be fair, this is 1880s Hill Valley, a la Part III, so there's actually not that much to see. Also, Victoria is thoroughly scandalized by the public baths. XD Ah, culture shock, it is so fun.
-->Watching The Sim Supply's latest two videos, which I was trying to save until after one of my own Sims sessions, but that didn't happen this weekend. (Good thing I've got a buffer!) First one was the latest of his Sims 2 LP, which consisted of sending Brentnall to college! Mostly because James wanted out of that overcrowded house. And then he promptly tried three times to get Brentnall into the local fraternity (failing the first two times as he could never find one of the members in time to actually complete the friendship requirements), moved him into the frat house, and then realized too late that meant he had to put up with all the other members. XD So now he's planning on moving out again at the first opportunity. XD On the plus side, Brentnall is doing well in college -- on the Dean's List from the first semester. Good for him!
The other video was a "basegame content only" renovation of his very first Sims 4 house, built while he was at the pre-release Sims Camp! Changed it from a two-bedroom to a four-bedroom, updated the kitchen, fussed with the color scheme, complained that he could so much better if he had all the expansions XD It turned out pretty nice, though I'm not wild about his love of white, black, and grey. And beige for the outside. Tempted to download it and give it a more colorful makeover, just because I can. :p (Part of me thinks it would be great for my Sim McFlys, but I don't think it'll fit on their lot. Shame.)
-->And got my Valice Multiverse queue sorted, hooray me.
Okay, that just leaves the stuff left in my inbox to clear up, then bed. Another week of work looms -- hopefully it won't be too bad. Keep your fingers crossed. . .night all!
