Downhill Tuesday
May. 21st, 2019 10:54 pmYou know it's gonna be a good day at work when, almost the minute you walk in, someone calls you on the phone about online giving. *sigh* And then there was the THING with the pledge billings -- we're talking about that tomorrow. Plus having to help my coworkers through adjusting pledges, and more online stuff, and more reversal batches, and -- it was just one of those days. Complete with heavy traffic both and out. *sigh* Me being right on the verge of that time of the month does NOT help -- if the stupid thing would just SHOW UP and get itself over with, that would be great! At least I got my walks today -- even if it was SUPER windy all day. I mean, seriously, it was GUSTING. Next door had a tree branch down, and I was honestly surprised there weren't more. But it was decently warm, so I still got my exercise. Yay me.
Evening hasn't been too bad -- I did another chunk on "Secundus 2" after supper. Not entirely sure how happy I am with it, but that might just be the PMS talking. At any rate, this is only edits round 2 -- gotta remember, we're going to have the chapter-by-chapter breakdown to bring it all together before posting. I also watched three videos:
-->The Sim Supply doing AN ENTIRE VIDEO about finding his Max Towers house in his library, complete with a tour of the place as he giggled over the nostalgia. It was cute to see him so happy about discovering the fully-furnished version of the place, after all the drama yesterday where he couldn't find a save where it was all done. :p And it's up on the Gallery now, so all is well with the world. :p
-->Call Me Kevin doing a "Draw My Life" video, where he gave us his life story -- guy's only 25 and has already owned and run a successful business! . . .Up until the point where some asshole hit him with a car, and he had to sell the place because the resulting injuries made it harder for him to run the store. :( And this is AFTER a childhood marked by incredibly painful stress-induced stomach ulcers and inner-ear trouble, to the point where he had to drop out of school. Fortunately, it was post-car-accident that he fell into successful YouTubery, so he's in a better place now. :)
-->Speaking of which, also watched one of his latest games: Duck Season! Which is a lovingly crafted VR experience of being a bored kid in the 80s who gets what is essentially "Duck Hunt" for the NES. You switch between playing as the kid, and playing as his character in the game.
Also it's actually a horror game playing on everyone's urge to shoot the damn "Duck Hunt" dog. Duck Season's version is a super-creepy costumed figure who, if you shoot him, um -- well, Mom does not come out the best when he escapes briefly from the television, that's for sure. I ended up listening to the end of the episode because I was worried actively watching it would freak me out JUUUST enough that, even with PMS exhaustion, sleep wouldn't be happening. At least Kevin's commentary kept things light. . . Darn it, though, that freaky pupper is the LAST thing I need running through my head while trying to get to sleep tonight.
And then the rest of my night has been going through webcomics and updating queues. Newcrest Adventures is all set for tomorrow, as is Valice Multiverse. Time to answer comments and hit the sack. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little less stressful. . .but we'll see. Night all!
