Time Ran Away With Me Again

Which you think would be harder on an early release day, buuuut -- well, it was kind of a stressful day, with issues with the GL, lots of phone calls from angry people, all that fun stuff. Dealing with problems pretty much right up until we closed. Oof -- why couldn't I have had a nice quiet day like last Tuesday? (Oh, right, I wasn't the only one in the office.)
The afternoon HAS been an improvement, though, once I got back and got some time to calm down. Namely because:
-->I did indeed get to watch Linkara's first part of the Cassandra Cain retrospective! The second part of said first part pretty much as it was uploaded. Good stuff -- the storyline Cassandra was introduced in was pretty wild, and her own solo series dealt with some pretty heavy themes. Cassandra herself is a fairly tragic character -- trained from birth to be the perfect assassin, she struggles a LOT with trying to be normal and have a life away from crimefighting. Poor thing. . . She needs all the hugs. (And will probably need them even more soon, given how Linkara's said she got pretty well screwed over by DC. . .)
-->I also got another episode of Helloween's Metro Exodus LP -- more forced stealth, which Helloween was VERY happy with. [/sarcasm] But he made it through the camp that was giving him trouble (basically by finding a place where he could wait around until nightfall), and into some new areas! Said new areas contained giant evil poison-spitting crawfish, a mentally disturbed "Admiral" and the corpses of his two friends, and a -- well, not sure what it is, but it's infested with giant spiders, so I do not approve. Bleck -- what IS it with this game and the creepy-crawlies? Meeeh. . .at least Helloween's commentary makes it all easier to take.
-->And there was another The Sim Supply "Your Gallery Builds" video, where he showed off some of his favorite builds from the gallery. This week's selections were all very cool, from a cozy little hobbit hole (James said he would stay there if it was a hotel), to a reconstruction of Belle's cottage from Beauty and the Beast (1991 animated version), to a base game (almost -- the lot size means you need one of the expansion packs that features 64X64 lots) "secret lab" that was all various domes, to a magical fairy treehouse with TONS of carefully-placed detail (also looks gorgeous at night), to a incredibly faithful recreation of a Shake Shack restaurant that had James (who is apparently a total Shake Shack addict) squealing. With good reason -- they actually made the sign and logo -- multiple times too -- out of SIZED DOWN POOL LIGHTS. Carefully and precisely spelling out the words and making the burger. I am impressed, good madam. *salutes* One of these days I'm just going to grab a bunch of these builds and scatter them through my worlds. :p
-->Got in a nice walk -- hot out (much hotter than they said), but it felt good to get some exercise. Got sprayed a bit by a sprinkler too, which honestly was nice under the circumstances. XD
-->Wrote the rough drafts of both of my upcoming birthday gift fics (Nebby from tumblr and Gigs from here). So I'm well sorted there, yay~
-->Got my VictorLuvsAlice queue sorted for the next few days -- haven't finished Saturday's bit, but that can wait until tomorrow, when I decide what song I'm pairing with the first post. (Since said first post is the new Bloodlines 2 main theme, I'm probably going to pull one of the original Bloodlines songs out for a reblog. I know of at least one that's Valicey. . .)
Right -- just have one last comment in the inbox, then it's time for bed! Two more normal-length days, groan. . .and tomorrow it's apparently going to POUR, so I'd best close my windows before I go to sleep too. Meh. Can't all be winners, I suppose. . .hopefully work's a little better, anyway. Night all!
