Ugh Friday

-->Woke up this morning to my Dad pissed off about his external hard drive and I'm pretty sure misinterpreting registering it with the company who makes it for the hard drive not actually working as one and instead all his data being stored in the cloud -- this does not sound right at ALL to me, but after looking up reviews of the drive (which happens to be the same as my own), it looks like the damn things actually break rather easy, so I'm not sure it's worth trying to talk him around on it.

-->Weather was fairly "blah" all day, with gray skies and on-and-off rain for most of the day -- sun didn't come out until Dad and I had supper, and even then it wasn't much. Also kind of chilly again for the most part -- though maybe that's more me, given:

-->Got my period today! Fortunately I caught it without ruining any clothes, and it's kind of a relief because I've been PMSing so bad all freaking week, but still. Low energy and general grouchiness is not my idea of a fun time.

-->Played some Fallout 4 -- picked up a new quest by surprise (by finding a radio signal asking for help), made my way to the location, got myself killed. . .and discovered at no point in that period had I or the game SAVED. Meaning I was kicked all the way back to where I originally started. And then when I tried to pick up the quest again, all I got was static, prompting me to look up that YES, OF COURSE THE QUEST IS BUGGY. Fortunately rolling back to the beginning one more time got it working again, and I was able to make my way into Cambridge and THIS time slaughter all the ghouls threatening Paladin Danse and his crew at the police station. So now I'm doing quests for the Brotherhood of Steel too. Or, well, A quest, helping them get a distress signal out so they can get picked up by their fellow brothers. One of these days I'm actually going to sort out the main plot to this game again.

-->And Helloween made a video today announcing that he's going to be slowly retiring from YouTube. :( Admittedly, he has some very understandable reasons -- he's getting older (he's just a little younger than I am), meaning he has less energy for doing all the work required to post LPs up on the site, and he has a cluster headache problem that's just making it all worse. He wants to phase out while he still loves it, rather than having it become a chore. And he's not just going "poof" -- he's going to finish the LPs he currently has running (well, most of them -- Nier has to be suspended because what he's using to record it is giving him twelve tons of grief, and it's just not worth fighting it anymore to him), he's considering doing a Bloodstained LP (Castlevania-style game that recently came out), and he's promised to go out on a high note, with his final planned LP being a run-through of Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines 2. Still, it's sad to think that, sometime in the next couple of years, I'm not going to get my regular fix of his stuff anymore. :( At least we'll always have the old LPs -- and he said that he's not going to rule out the occasional one-shot video, or Saturday LP. (And of course he's going to keep streaming, but I personally don't like watching streams, sooo. . .)

So yeah, that was my Friday. Briefly I was like "I might as well have gone into work," but then I was like, "Yeah, but then I would have had work on top of all of this." At least this way I got to just stay at home and relax while my body played awful tricks on me. And I did manage to:

-->Catch up on Linkara's "Not A Channel Awesome Anniversary" audio drama, "A Voice From The Dark." Been pretty cool, even if I don't know who a good chunk of the people participating are. But then again, that was true of the old anniversary movies too often. :p But it's a solid story of a house haunted by a terrible eldritch beasts, and how a bunch of internet reviewers are coming close to releasing it from its prison (by accident -- mostly). Last part releases tomorrow -- I'm looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up!

-->Watch the latest Fun With Shorts -- another ridiculous Lone Ranger cartoon, yay! This one all about a guy whose whole schtick is deadly clocks -- time bombs, trap clocks, the works. Completely ridiculous bullshit fun as pr usual. XD

-->Get one of my "wedding prep" stories for the Forgotten Vows Verse rough-drafted -- I'm hoping to post them this July, so I kind of need all four written! At least I have two already in a pretty much finished state. . .this one was about Victor getting Alice an engagement ring and proposing, simply because it happens to be important to him that he do so while he still has the chance. Just some fluff for fluff's sake. :)

Okay, and I fortunately already took care of queues and what's in my inbox -- time to run off and do the Friday Night Writing Thing! While I'm still awake to do it, anyway. . . Night all!

Ed gets the clusters too. I told Hells about the meds he's on that really do help so hopefully he can get relief.

I'm currently at a YESTERcades (arcade) and they have the BTTF pinball machine.

I did, though I've never been very good at pinball machines. Here, I took a picture. I can't get the html to work so you'll have to click a link.

I'd noticed that about the Hook pinball machine. It looked like the only character that looked like his actor was Rufio/Dante Basco. On the Star Wars machine the only face I noticed was Mark Hamill's, naturally. XD
