crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)

Though, weirdly enough, the thing I thought would be the hardest today -- the GL -- was the EASIEST. Apparently nobody did much with processing on Friday, so it was a pretty quick few pages. Buuut apparently there were a LOT of calls about stuff when I was out, and a lot of things they needed my help with, so I was up and down with various issues most of the day. Nothing TOO horrible, at least -- and the day went by, so I can't complain about that. One down, four to go. . .

Worst part of the day was definitely the drive home, though -- there was some sort of accident on the highway, so I had to cut through the city on a day where the temperature got up to close to 90F! In a car where the air conditioning has decided not to work again. I managed to get through with all the windows open and whatever breeze I could get, but -- ugh. We actually know the car's on its way out -- we've had to bring it into the garage quite a bit lately, and the steering recently was getting super hard. Lubing up the gears has bought us some time, but -- it seems like a not-insignificant portion of my free time will be spent car shopping in the near future. (My current demands are: automatic; about the size of our current car, a Saturn Ion; either a regular two-door or four-door, not the rather annoying "it's technically four-door but you can only open the back 'doors' by opening the front ones" arrangement the Ion has; good gas mileage; handles similarly to the Ion; has working AC, heat, and windows (we also have a thing where the driver's side window only goes up and down if it feels like it).) Also on the need-to-get list -- a new water bottle. The one I usually walk/run with is shot -- the little rubber thing in the cap doesn't make a seal anymore and keeps turning around so water randomly splashes out the little spout when you run. Meeeh. Not a big expense, but an important one when you like exercising outside, like me.

Evening was a bit better, though -- once I got in my walk (with a temporary replacement water bottle on loan from Dad) and we had supper, I came to the computer and got writing! Another chunk of "Secundus 2" dealt with -- Clara giving a bit of her family history (as per the comics and TAS -- though without some of the dumber parts of the latter) and Victor squeeing over her father, Daniel, who as it turns out is a bit famous in lepidoptery circles. :P Also Clara revealing she has a Reanimated uncle, so that's why she's taking Richard and especially Emily in stride. XD It's fun to just do the characters having a chat like this -- it really shows how fast Clara is being accepted into the group. She already has a pretty nice dynamic with the others. Makes it all that more believable that she and Doc would fall for each other that fast. (I hope, anyway!)

YouTubery ended up being CallMeKevin based -- two episodes of him on Twitch Sings! I'm -- not entirely sure what that is, beyond some Twitch program where you can sing a variety of songs either alone or as part of a duet with a pre-recorded video (Kevin was sneaky once and did one specifically for himself to sing along to -- two Kevins, yay! XD), and your streaming audience can make you do challenges like "sing like you're underwater!" "sing like you're on fire!" "sing like you're a demon!" XD It was pretty fun -- Kevin actually doesn't have a half-bad singing voice when he tries, and some of the duet videos he chose were great. Including one with Darth Vader. XD Not to mention singing part of Eminem's "Stan" as MICKEY MOUSE. XD And there was some genuinely good music in there too -- I got reintroduced to this sad by sweet song by Death Cab Cutie, "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" (probably should do it for a Song Saturday at some point), and finally learned the name of a song I've been hearing on the radio now that's it's summer that I like, but I can never recall the name of! ("Hey Ya" by Outkast) So that was all great. :)

And I've managed to get two parts of my three-part Newcrest Adventures update sorted for Wednesday, AND I have my posts for the rest of the week all lined up too, more or less. Yay planning! :p Just have one thing left to cover in the inbox right now, then it's time for bed. I -- may be borrowing another fan off my parents to make sure my room is cool enough to sleep in -- it's getting to the time of year where it doesn't cool off much at night. We're thinking the air conditioners might have to go in soon. . .we'll see! For now, good night!
