Happy Anniversary BTTF!

crossover_chickHa-HA, you thought I might miss this, didn't you? Well, I may not be the Backie I once was, but I do still love the trilogy, and I'm not going to miss an anniversary 10:04 post. :) 34 years, meeep. . . I do still kind of wish we lived in the future of Part II. It may have been mostly jokes on 80s stuff, but it did seem like a genuinely nicer place. Meh.
Anyway! My day was -- actually pretty good! Traffic both ways was good (though I did have to avoid a couple of nuts on the way back home), and the work day was actually fairly quiet! A few little things here and there, but nothing too overly stressful. I even managed to finish up two things of returns, so that was nice. A good start to a long weekend!
Once I got back home, I did the usual amount of dicking around, then watched the second part of Linkara's Cassandra Caintrospective. Girl has definitely been through some shit over there years -- some great storylines about exploring her relationship with her past and the rest of the Bat-family; some horrible ones about the Gotham mob that got one of her best friends killed. And some horrible, overly-cartoony artwork mushed up against some very solid stuff. It was pretty fascinating -- though I worry about the final episode, given Linkara's warned she got done dirty by the editors at one point, and we seem to be coming up to said point. Ooof. . .
Did a workout after that (indoor one -- I took a walk at lunch at work, and it was already getting pretty hot out. Figured I was better off exercising in the AC), then had supper, then got to my writing! Clara is officially dropped off, and the teasing of Doc on the way home has begun. XD Poor guy, he's so embarrassed. . .though before the end of the chapter, he shall voice some legitimate concerns about getting together with Clara too. Not that this will stop the rest of the cast from shipping them. :p Nice when a piece of writing just comes together. "Secundus 2" has had some ups and downs, but I'm hopeful it'll be a decent follow-up once I'm ready to post.
After that was another little YouTube marathon:
-->OXtra list about another seven games you can no longer purchase, because lawyers. Including the debacle with Too Human -- which is technically now back online, just for free -- and Silicon Knights trying to sue Epic, failing, and getting the pants sued off them by Epic in return; and a curious case where an UNO game on the PSP had to be pulled because it had an exploit you could use to crack the console and play pirated games. Yes, in UNO. I was surprised too.
-->CallMeKevin taking on Pro Cycling Manager Season 2019 --he saw it on the Steam sale, grabbed it, and went to town, deleting tons of emails from his manager's inbox before running two races with his team and basically killing them from dehydration and exhaustion XD Except for one guy, who stayed at the starting line of one race to block all the other people from going (he did not succeed). Typical delightful Kevin chaos~
-->A Mod Showcase from onlyabidoang, showing off the Fear Mod! Yes, fear is something you have to MOD into Sims 4. I've actually been looking for something like this, as it has bugged me for a while that Sims get TENSE when you have fires. It looks like a decent mod, building off StrangerVille's POSSESSED emotion -- a few glitches, but I might give it a go! Though I think there are other mods out there that do a lot more with emotions. . .hmmm. We'll see.
-->A collab from Deli and Clare Siobhan, another Simmer, where they trade Sims from their games and have the other person make them over. I only saw Deli's side of the switch, where she made over two of Clare's Sims -- she did a lovely job! Particularly lovely in my eyes, in fact, as Clare is a fan of "alpha" (more realistic) custom content, and -- yeah, seeing that on Sims always makes me think of Sims 3 and its horrible art style. I like my Sims to be more cartoony -- it suits them so much better. But you guys all do you. (And the Sims weren't horrible before Deli got her paws on them -- just I like their Maxis Match looks better. Also, Clare has a terrible SUPER-REALISTIC skin of some sort and she showed it off on one of Deli's Sims briefly and EEEK. D: Why would anyone want that in their game?! Uncanny valley nightmare fuel RIGHT there.)
And then it was time for catching up on webcomics, and now I'm onto sorting out my tumblr queue for the next day or so. You know, the usual. :p Gotta answer messages too. . . No big plans for tomorrow beyond watching a movie -- a couple my parents ordered for us came in, including the feature-length version of Smallfoot and The LEGO Movie 2, which I have fond memories of. I am looking forward to another few chances to sleep in, mostly. :P
