Yup, today was the big trip! We left around eleven (mostly because I woke up at ten, and my parents came home from the flea market around the same time (total bust for them), and we all needed a minute to have breakfast and get ourselves put together), and got there a little after noon. Place was downright MOBBED -- we had to be directed to additional parking to find a space -- but, strangely and happily enough, we never ended up waiting TOO long to do anything. AND when we did have to wait, there was generally a lot of shade around, which was good as it was HOT today. Up into the lower 90s -- we're lucky it wasn't humid! *whew* Anyway, we got "Pick 3" wristbands, just like last year, and proceeded to do the following:

-->Play some minigolf -- we did the Waterfall Run course this year, since we're pretty certain we did Forbidden Mine last time. Busy, but fun -- a lot of fairly tricky holes! Dad was the only one to get a proper hole in one, but, hilariously, he helped ME get a hole in one on one hole when his ball hit mine, sending it into the hole. (And before you say anything, HE was the one to insist that counted as a hole in one for me XD) It was nice looking at all the plants, and going past the waterfalls dotted around the course. Good stuff. Even if I didn't win. :p

-->Went for a spin on "The Spin Zone" bumper cars -- the ones they have are basically big round vehicles with giant inflatable rubber rings around them. Great for spinning around as you trying to bump people! We had a lot of fun careening all over the floor, bouncing into everyone and laughing. I love a good bumper car. Lets me have fun driving, instead of worrying about all the idiots around me on the road. :p

-->Had some ice cream, because of course you do. Dad and I got small hot fudge sundaes -- his was pistachio, mine Malted Moo Crunch (chocolate ice cream with some sort of chocolate crunchie inside), while Mom got a kiddie size cup of coffee flavor. Considering their "kiddie" size would be called a SMALL anywhere else, we all had QUITE enough ice cream. Very welcome on a hot day like today, though -- and absolutely delicious, just like last time. Mmmmm~

-->Finished off the trip with bumper boats, which I was happy about, as I wanted to go on them again. The line was starting to get long, but fortunately they have a pretty good-sized fleet of bumper boats to take out, so we didn't wait long. Mine had some troubles starting at first, but one of the crew got it running for me, and I had a lot of fun bouncing off everyone and getting splashed (also a nice thing on such a hot day)! Only five minutes, but still -- an enjoyable time!

And then we headed back out (after purchasing some water for the trip home, because hydration is important, especially when you have to rely on the breeze to keep your car cool. Mom's new car arrives tomorrow -- we're not getting rid of this one right away after that, but it'll be nice to have, at least!). Got home around four thanks to good traffic, where (after some general dicking around and catching up on the web) I proceeded to:

-->Play some Sims 4, wrapping things up with the McFly family (hey, just in time for the patch, too) -- spent a good chunk of the day just having Marty produce music tracks and getting annoyed when they were of "poor" quality. Third time was the charm, thankfully, as he produced a "normal" quality CalcRock track, which I promptly had him release under his label to keep them from bugging him about it. (I mean, I don't know if he'll still have the label once I get back to the family after my usual round robin, but I should make the effort while I'm with the fam.) Douglas also bought some more Voidcritter cards to train, and started following in his Dad's footsteps by streaming himself doing some training of some new uncommons/rares he picked up. He's an A student now, he's allowed. :p Marty and Jennifer also became best friends to fulfill another milestone in the Soulmate aspiration, and the rest of the day was largely just cute domestic stuff. Keeping it low-key while I wind down my time with them. :) Eric's up next -- balancing job, dog, and boyfriend time! Also I have to send SOMEONE to Sulani to look at Island Living stuff, so it might as well be him. Maybe it's his turn to take Andy on a far-flung date. I do start off his portion of the round-robin on Love Day. . .

-->Write another chunk on "Secundus 2" -- the famous telescope scene! Only this time Richard keeps trying to interject about how the telescope is almost certainly not broken, even though Emily keeps poking him in the ribs. XD I had to go back and rewrite a bit, though -- I'd thrown Lightning into the scene earlier just to have a bit more of the corgi in the story, and then realized he and Clara should react to each other when she comes in. Probably most of my third draft is going to be "okay you brought Lightning to Hill Valley in the end NOW ACTUALLY USE HIM." XD I'm just not used to writing this Victor with his dog outside of shorts. . .

-->Catch up on my subscriptions -- namely, The Sim Supply (no Helloween this weekend as he was out at a con)! Watched three videos in quick succession:

A) The next part of "Rags To Riches Island Edition" -- Banana has a pee-bush again, yay :p She is struggling a bit to keep herself fed, though -- she's not very good at fishing, and her "child of the ocean" trait means she doesn't even LIKE eating it despite the fact it's one of the more convenient sources of food around. . . LUCKILY her plantain trees have finally grown and started producing fruit, so she at least has THAT. She's also started selling them on her yard sale table, but at $3 a pop currently, it's PROBABLY gonna take her a while to make any real money from it. (If you're wondering why she has to sell to other Sims, James thought it would be interesting this go-round to do a more R&R Extreme-style challenge, where she can't sell from inventory.) James is considering better ways to handle this banana business -- especially since he's decided he wants to get her a woodworking bench so she can make her own furniture in the near future.

B) A collab build with Deli -- James built the building, and Deli furnished it! (And vice-versa, but we didn't see the other way around on his channel.) James's offering to tell was something rather unique -- a castle on a tower! As in, there is a tower base, and then a castle atop it. It was inspired by a picture he saw. It was a pretty interesting build, and I loved how he did the crenelations and such (clever use of varying half-wall heights). Deli also did a nice job of furnishing it -- she added a basement level that became kitchen and dining, the tower was the entrance, the first floor was the living space (with the single toilet "bathroom"), the second floor was the bedrooms, and the third floor was some skill-building stuff and outdoor bbq. Maybe not always the most CONVENIENT floor plan for a Sim, but it looked cool. :p And a discussion of chess while she was placing a chessboard led to the next video. . .

C) Deli vs James -- Sims 4 chess! :p As in, they built a chess board in-game, had a bunch of Sims in various costumes for the pieces (plus some sized up cat toys/rubber ducks for pawns), and then played a game by moving the Sims/cats/ducks around! It was pretty hilarious, especially when they decided to kill a Sim who'd been captured and nearly completely wrecked their current board because everyone started to walk away to witness the death. :p They stuck with teleporting Sims to other locations after that. :p It was a long and ridiculous battle (they said at the end of the video they played for almost an hour and a half!), but James finally managed to win by capturing all of Deli's pieces. Good times~ XD

-->And I just now finished clearing out my inbox and setting up my queue for Valice Multiverse (not much going on there, so I had to find some other stuff to reblog).

And now, with all that out of the way, I need to head to bed. Another week of work tomorrow. . .hoping it's okay. And that this upcoming Friday is better than the one just past! Though I guess it didn't turn out too badly -- any day where you get to go home early is a good day. :p Night all!
