The Usual Monday
Jul. 15th, 2019 11:10 pmStarts off okay, rapidly gets more stressful as everyone and their brother needs a piece of my time. *sigh* Lots of stuff with the website today, which I hope can get straightened out. I'm just trying to do my job. . .
It also got hotter than anticipated today -- it was supposed to be dry and in the mid 80s today, but while everything was very pleasant around noon, it had gotten significantly hotter and more humid by the time I got home. I still went for a walk outside, but I cut it a little shorter than I usually do (just three laps instead of three and a bit) because whew. And that's the trend for this whole week -- slowly getting hotter and stickier. Tomorrow's not supposed to be too bad, and Wednesday and Thursday will have some rain to cool things down a touch, but the entire weekend is supposed to be a major heatwave. I am suddenly very glad that yesterday is the day we went to Kimball Farms -- hot as it was, it wasn't MISERABLY hot. This weekend is going to be a "hide in the air conditioning unless I decide I want a frozen hot chocolate" weekend.
On the plus side, the evening was pretty nice, as I accomplished three major things:
-->Another good-sized chunk on "Secundus 2," with Richard FINALLY getting to bring up the whole "the telescope isn't broken!" business, and Doc abruptly realizing that he and Clara are kind of sort of going on a date. XD That is, if Mayor Gillen lets them into the festival. . .this is fortunately an unfounded worry, as the next chapter shall show, but it's one that they're going to dwell on for a moment. As they LIKE Clara and they want her and Doc to have their date. Don't worry, guys, they'll get their recommended amount of cuteness, I promise.
-->Watched some fun Sims videos:
A) Another episode of The Sim Supply's "Rags to Riches Island Edition" (Deli tried to sneak a dog named Mr. Chow Chow into Banana's family -- or, well, that's what James claims; given that "Canoe Reefs" was living nearby ready and willing to take in the pup, I have my doubts. XD Also, the plantain farm isn't going particularly well, and Banana was constantly tense from monsoons and volcanic eruptions -- but James eventually got her a proper walled-in area on her hut, so that's SOMETHING. At the very least, with her counters and kava bowls, she can claim to have a kitchen. :p)
B) Deli taking on the "8 Sim Budget Family House Build" challenge (8 Sim family, build them a house using only the funds given to them by CAS; Deli mixed it up further by using James's Random Packs generator to choose two random packs as the only ones she could pull items from -- and got StrangerVille and My First Pet Stuff. *facepalm* She ended up making a surprisingly nice little house, though -- cramped, but pretty. StrangerVille has some really nice doors and windows for cheap, it turns out!)
C) A video about how the "challenges" system in Sims 3 for skills (basically, complete a challenge and earn a bonus to the skill -- like a fishing Sim catching certain kinds of fish to get a bonus to the weight of the fish they catch), would be useful in Sims 4 (I do think it sounds interesting, but personally what I really want are updated personalities -- likes, dislikes, turn-ons, turn-offs, all of that. Which is the main reason I'm looking at mods when they're not about to update the game with new branding.)
-->Got my Newcrest Adventures pictures sorted -- and all the posts done! Mostly because this week is a rare two-part update (not a lot happened beyond Marty and Jennifer going on a date to Orchid A Go Go), and thus was something I could get done in one go tonight. Along with my Thursday queue, and half of Friday, so I'm feeling pretty good right at the moment. :D It's rare that I'm more than a day ahead on my Victor Luvs Alice queue, especially when it comes to the Sims update. I'm gonna take a moment to bask. :p
So yeah, that was all pretty good. :) Now I just have a few last things to take care of, and I'm good to go to bed. With the air conditioning running, because it's still pretty warm outside. *wraps self up in bathrobe* Night all!
