Hot Hike Sunday

Fortunately it was a relatively short hike too -- about ten, fifteen minutes from my house to the Subway up the road I visited for lunch to use up my gift card. Chicken teriakyi with chips and a drink -- pretty much used up the balance exactly. I was pleased. But yeah, when I left around 12:15 or so, it was already in the mid 80s, and humid enough that I was sweating pretty good on the way up and back. My parents came back around the same time I did, and we ended up putting on the AC because it was just getting too warm. Fine by me -- I got my outside time, and I was VERY keen on hanging out in the cool for the rest of the day.
And hang out I did:
-->Ate my lunch while watching an OXBox/OXtra livestream from the beginning of the month (my parents were having pancakes out on the patio after coming home from their flea market -- got a cement duck, a ceramic frog, and some old medicine tins) -- Sims 4 on the XBox! They -- well, I want to say they weren't very good at it, but to be fair:
1. Jane, on the controls, had a cold
2. There was a lot of distraction from answering questions in the chat
3. From what I hear, the console controls are really not great when compared to the PC ones
4. They managed to host a dinner party at John Wick's house (yes, Jane made a John Wick for their save file -- he doesn't have a dog as they don't have Cats & Dogs installed, though) and got Silver, which, hey, is pretty damn good
So yeah -- they could probably stand to look after their Sim-selves needs better (everyone was constantly either hungry, stinky, or tired), but I guess I can't be TOO rough on them. And it was a very amusing livestream to watch. XD
-->Watched some Plumbella videos -- she's another Simmer who does stuff like "the full history of" various families and concepts across the series. I looked at her piece on the life and death of Bella Goth, the history of the Landgraab family, and the history of the Caliente sisters. Plus, later on, a look at a possible Sims competitor in production -- Paralives. Supposedly it's going to have all sorts of cool stuff that the Sims has been missing, like gridless building, curved walls, open world, seasons and pets in base game. . .I would like to think they could pull it off, but I'm worried the indie developer working on the game is overreaching their capabilities. Something to keep an eye on for the future, but I won't let myself get too hype.
-->Played Sims 4 myself -- headed to Brindleton Bay with Eric and Laserwolf to get an age up treat to get this puppy to full doghood! Because, trust me, if I waited for him to age up on his own, I'd be waiting a WHILE. (One of the downsides of having Long lifespans. . .) He's a "Vizsla" -- a Hungarian dog breed, according to Google, and a very tall boy in my game. Eric's managed to teach him how to sit, and gotten him trained to go outside for poops. Rolling in puddles and barking at people we're still working on.
It also happened to be Neighborhood Brawl, one of the little pop-up holidays on the calendar, so Eric spent the day getting in a few fights! All in good fun, though -- the kind of dust-ups where you hug afterward. :p He won three, and lost one (though the loss was to someone he'd already trounced). Didn't quite fulfill the tradition, but did well enough that he didn't fail the holiday. So that was all fun. XD I'm actually thinking of having HIM host a dinner party -- I am having him work on the Food aspiration just for funsies. And it's something I haven't done before, sooo. . .hopefully it goes better than the infamous Van Dort Weenie Roast!
-->Wrote some more on "Secundus 2" -- everyone's made it to the dance floor! Victor after a little attack of nerves, since he's never square-danced before. . .fortunately, everyone ALREADY dancing is willing to give him and his pregnant wife a wide berth. And, as it stands, we're about to move into a called dance so he's going to have instructions to follow very soon anyway. :P I'm having fun with this part -- it's nice to just write about everyone having a good time. :)
-->Watched the latest episode of "Rags To Riches Island Edition" from The Sim Supply. Banana's shop is slowly growing -- there's a new "greenhouse" area (just another four columns with a roof) for her plantains and birds of paradise to grow, and James was able to afford the ACTUAL selling fridge he needed to sell his current crop of not-bananas, plus a mini-kitchen to make baked goods! Mostly because he discovered that his birds of paradise, when sold from counters at a 100% mark-up from $51, sell for $510. This makes the "to riches" part a lot easier, let me tell you! James is still determined that, in the end, Banana make her money from her sort-of-namesake, but this is definitely a good way to put a few simoleons in the bank while we work on increasing plant quality! Now if she could just get her customers to stop sitting on her bed. . .and get the Sulani elementals to give her some credit for cleaning up the archipelago. . .
-->Watched the first part of a renovation challenge Deli's doing -- taking an abandoned house she found on the gallery, and fixing up for a little family she also found on the gallery. The actual abandoned lot was done really well -- whoever made it took full advantage of the new "live edit" cheats to throw in as much random junk as possible. Deli's renovation is coming along nicely too -- she's cleaned up the outside and given it a new paint job, and removed all the cracks and holes inside and done up the kitchen! The rest of the renovation is forthcoming -- I'm looking forward to it! Though I hope the sound is a bit louder on the next one -- I really had to strain to hear what she was saying in some parts!
-->And I just did my Valice Multiverse queue, which fortunately wasn't anything too stressful. Except for one ask which was a bunch of planetary symbols, which took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out. . .look, when someone asks you a bunch of apparently random symbols, it can take you a while to puzzle out just what they mean!
So yeah, a good Sunday overall! Made even nicer by having the day off tomorrow. :D Gonna try and get to the stuff in my inbox now, and then -- I dunno, probably stay up too late looking at random shit. As I do. :p Night all!
