Rather A Monday
Aug. 19th, 2019 11:39 pmWork was largely chasing down answers to problems that kept arriving in my inbox/over the phone -- nothing too irritating, at least, and it made the day go by , but it is always a little frustrating to have to keep going in and out of my supervisor's office to talk to him about stuff. And then wait on other people for answers to things. *sigh* Two more days. . .
Afternoon was mostly taken up by thunderstorms -- we had one run through just as I was doing my workout. Ended up having dinner and making my muffins (I just ran out this morning) before I could get in the shower. At least breakfast (and lunch) for tomorrow are all sorted. And I did get my writing completed -- another chunk on "Secundus 2!" Doc giving the group a brief but memorable heart attack by not coming home until the wee hours of the morning. . .of course, now that he's revealed he's slept over Clara's, the teasing may begin. XD At least until the undertaker shows up and ruins the mood. . .but that's for tomorrow. :p
I followed that up with with a long video full of salt -- Helloween finally finishing up his LP of Secret of Mana 2! . . .With a Total Party Kill that he could not be arsed to replay because the boss fight that proceeded it already took him half an hour simply because of the menu spamming and the spell animations. He went online and grabbed some other footage from other sources so he could actually show us the character's endings. It's been kind of sad to watch him go from being all eager and excited to play the game to being absolutely disgusted with its slow and clunky combat system and ring menus, and the janky way spells work thanks to the game not being great at processing multiple things happening at once. He says that he doesn't hate the game -- he still thinks the graphics are awesome and really pushed the limits of what the Super Nintendo could do, and that the soundtrack is baller -- but he can't recommend it in its current state, and that he hopes that the upcoming remake Trials of Mana manages to improve upon all the shittier aspects. My fingers are crossed for you, Helloween.
The rest of my evening has been mostly catching up on webcomics, catching up on tumblr messages (including two additional videos: a look at Tokyo Disney's "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" ride, and a video about a puppet comedian from Australia talking about buying a bookshelf on Gumtree -- it's a solid 21 minutes of entertainment there, I promise you), and catching up on comments. And generally feeling like I've gotten to everything a little too late today. *sigh* One of these days, I will figure out time management. . .
Ah well. Time to wrap things up and hit the sheets -- tomorrow's another day! And I'm really hoping tomorrow will be a BETTER day too. I'm at least guaranteed one interesting thing happening:
The Sims 4 Realm of Magic trailer drops tomorrow.
Yeah, fingers crossed people. Night all!
