A Simmy Sort Of Evening
Aug. 20th, 2019 11:27 pmAs you might expect, given I mentioned the Sims 4: Realm of Magic trailer was dropping yesterday. Watched it this afternoon after getting home from work (got a few things off my plate so I don't have to worry about them while I'm away from the office, yay), and -- well, I'm hype. :D It looks pretty damn cool, I gotta say! Yeah, this is the more "cinematic" trailer, but I've got my fingers crossed the actual game pack lives up to it! I already know from SimsVIP that:
1. The new world, Glimmerbrook, is like Forgotten Hollow -- so basically just an overgrown neighborhood (not great, but at least it looks nice)
2. The Magic Realm is technically just one giant lot (also not great, but it looks REALLY nice, and there's plenty of places to go, it looks like)
3. Those little magical critters are "familiars," and your Sims can summon them, or -- if you have Cats & Dogs -- designate your pet as one! Sims can have multiples, but only one can be summoned at a time. And you can summon dragons, so I'm happy. Just give my Sim SOME ability to own a dragon.
I'm really looking forwards to learning more as the weeks go on! I watched trailer reaction videos from James (despite not being big into the Occults, he seems eager to try out life as an evil witch -- possibly as a side effect of his Sims 2 LP), Deli (she was full of squee and is so eager to get into this thing), and an update video from Pixelade (which turned out to be nothing I didn't already know, but still). People seem to be excited, and I'm glad! I just really hope the hype is warranted. . .then again, they did vampires really well in this generation. . .
Other notes on the evening:
-->Got another chunk written on "Secundus 2" -- actually didn't make up to the undertaker ruining everyone's groove! Just Doc telling everyone that he didn't sleep with Clara, and everyone poking some fun at his embarrassed reactions and how he actually forgot about the wedding rehearsal for a bit. With a quick dip into seriousness as Doc worries again how associating with him will affect Clara's reputation. . .trust me, dude, not going to be an issue come the climax.
-->Also watched the latest episode of "Rags To Riches: Island Edition" from James (Banana leaves her baby behind to run her retail store, up her baking skill, and fight Canoe Reefs for Neighborhood Brawl -- and sell lots and lots of plantains until James got sick of no one buying his good stuff XD); a short silly video from Kevin about his fate if he ended up in his own Sims game (namely basement prisoner -- or Picken's lover XD); and an episode of Island Living Sims Logic (such as how mermaids can't use deck ladders, but can use pool ladders just fine. . .and how Sims can start fires underwater if the campfire's placed just right XD). Like I said -- Simmy evening!
-->Got my Victor Luvs Alice and Valice Multiverse queues sorted, including a "hiatus message" for each -- yeah, since I'm gonna be out and about for the next four days, I decided it would be easier not to strain to keep up with the queues. Probably restart 'em next week, when things die down a little and my Mom's working in the afternoons again. I will do my best to keep up with this, but I may be doing short "hey this was fun" posts depending on level of tired!
-->Speaking of which, we decided what we're doing on Thursday -- Roger Williams Park! There's a chance of rain, so we needed something with an indoor element, and there's a museum of Natural History and a Planetarium over there with a show. Plus a carousel, a train ride, the zoo, walking trails if the weather is okay. . .should be a fun start to the madness. Then Friday is Six Flags, Saturday going down the river on the inner tubes, and Sunday Lake Compounce. Packing a lot into four days! See why I don't want to keep up with my tumblr queues? :p
Anyway -- gonna wrap it up here and head to bed. One last day of work to get through! Fingers crossed it's not a doozy. Just want to wrap up what I can and leave with a clear conscience. . .night all!
