crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
-->Traffic this morning was slow because of construction on the main drag, and having to get over for a cop

-->Had one of those panhandlers who walks out into the street at the intersection where I turn to get to my job; he didn't step out in front of me, but he did make me pretty nervous

-->Had another long GL to contend with, along with other little problems to try and work through

-->Got my period by surprise in the middle of the day, basically ruining my panties (FORTUNATELY I was semi-prepared and had an emergency pad on me because I DID expect it come this week, but. . .)

-->More traffic on the ride home, and right by my exit I got behind some guy with his flashers on going at most 30 mph on the highway, drifting to and fro -- I assume he was trying to limp home with his busted car, but it was EXTREMELY frustrating (especially since right before I had to slow down I'd had a van cut in front of me because he was doing the "weave in and out of traffic so I can go faster than everyone" thing)

-->Ended up doing an indoor workout because it looked like it was going to rain, and when I checked the weather, I ended up reading an update about mosquitoes and dangerous diseases that made me want to stay inside (never did rain though)

-->And while trying to do at least one post of my latest Newcrest Adventures update tonight, I kept getting upload errors while uploading the pictures that rendered me unable to do anything at all with the post I was trying to make/edit -- the page would get tinted blue and I'd have to go back to my dashboard via my bookmarks. FINALLY got it to work by uploading the photos in smaller batches, so now I at least have all ten in the post, but cripes, I HATE how glitchy tumblr is sometimes.

-->Oh, and we just ran out of water in the fridge. Right when I was going to get a glass. A small thing, in the grand scheme, but still -- annoying.

So yeah, not exactly the best start to the week. I mean, I'm genuinely thankful I didn't get my period YESTERDAY, that would have really cramped my style at Canobie (no water rides for a start), but I would have preferred it come when I was expecting it -- i.e., at the end of this week so I could deal with it by sleeping in this Saturday. Now instead I have to be a functional human being while also being a hormonal mess. >(

I have managed, though -- got through my day at work, and accomplished a few things this afternoon:

-->I did exercise, so go me there

-->I wrote another chunk on "Secundus 2," rejiggering what happens when and where everyone is when it happens (namely, I'm moving the action to the train station so it'll be easier to report the hijacked train to the gang, and there's less characters I have to deal with when Doc brings in the big guns, aka his own train). Doing a LOT of rewriting here, but I think it's all working out for the better.

-->I watched four videos from my Watch Later queue:

A) RabbidLuigi going over the best tutorials in video games (the main criteria for a good tutorial, based on this list, is -- have fun with the format, snarky humor never hurts, give us the chance to skip if we're not new to the game, or build it organically into a level so it doesn't FEEL like a tutorial)

B) Call Me Kevin taking on the Ender Dragon! After the building of many, many Nether portals as he kept linking up to the wrong ones. XD The dragon battle was marked by many deaths, but with some determination, luck, and "keepinventory," Kevin finally managed to slay it! And draw the ire of the local Endermen, because that's just what he does. XD

C) A look at Virtual Rides III with GrayStillPlays, a fairly terrible theme park simulator where the models are terrifyingly janky, the pizza is 2-D, and the rides are set for maximum boredom. Gray did what he could with setting eye-bleeding colors, spin intensity, and horrible weather, but he just barely got two people to vomit every time, never mind killing anyone. Poor Gray. :p

D) And another Sims 4 video from Gray, where the challenge was to make a house full of stairs that Sims would have to traverse to get to places, like the rooftop grill, or the basement bathroom. The intent was to torture the Sims, but Gray really got the brunt of it -- from the hellish process of building all those stairs, to the severe lag he suffered every time he zoomed out, to the increasing stupidity of the Sims meaning he actually had to work to KEEP THEM ALIVE for a while (nobody would go eat, is the thing -- including one hilarious moment where two people died of starvation on different levels, everyone still alive started crying over the person who died on the roof -- and Grim went to reap the person who died lower down FIRST, meaning someone ELSE on the roof died of starvation because no one up there would stop crying!), to the fact that he couldn't save his game, and in fact completely destroyed the save after playing (he said in a comment he tried to add more stairs, and basically the game clock refused to run, meaning he could look around, but nothing would actually move). It was FRIGGING HILARIOUS. XD Love it.

So that was all good, at least. A few nice things to balance out the rest of the day.

All right -- time to answer what comments I can, then get to bed. Managed to get some decent sleep last night, so fingers crossed I can repeat that tonight. And fingers crossed Tuesday is a bit of a better day. Night all!
