Surprise Changes Wednesday

crossover_chickIn the form of "we were supposed to have this goodbye dinner for a coworker on Friday, when she actually goes, but now these two people who have a lot of clout here want it to be on Thursday, sooo. . ." I'd volunteered to get cupcakes for this thing, so I had to text Mom for her help, and it ended up costing me $54 for two dozen cupcakes! o.O When did bakeries get so freaking expensive? I really hope these cupcakes are worth it. . . Ah well, at least they're here and I can bring them in tomorrow with hopefully minimal fuss.
Workday wasn't too bad -- got multiple projects going on, trying to get some things sorted on the system, all that good stuff. Just hoping I can get this one batch I've been meaning to do for two days now done tomorrow. . . Also, traffic up and back was pretty shit. Had some narrow escapes with a couple of lights. *sigh* I really did not miss these kinds of tie-ups on the road. . .really hoping tomorrow is a little better! Especially since I'm bringing in baked goods in the morning.
Evening was all right too:
-->Got in a walk, though it's starting to get really buggy when I get home from work. I think the time is coming when I'll have to just keep my walking to lunchtime on workdays and do a video in the afternoon. :( Dad did tell me where the bug spray lives, though, so that should help for a couple days yet.
-->Wrote almost two more pages on "Secundus 2!" The mayor has allowed Marty and Doc a week's grace period to leave the town -- mostly because Seamus talked him into it. And because both families were very adamant Marty and Jennifer get married. So that's wound up that chapter! Now we just have the final epilogue, featuring the birth of Victor's child. :) And then I'm done, yay~ (Well, second-draft done, but still.)
-->Watched the latest Atop The Fourth Wall episode -- Alan Moore helping Rob Liefeld soft-reboot Youngblood! . . .Yeah, it wasn't great. I mean, there were a lot of great ideas in there, but the execution fell flat, sadly. A real shame, because I was intrigued by the central conceit of a book that tells everything that can and will be being passed down through the ages. . .and edited by unscrupulous types. . . Also, we had the return of the Contest of Champions plot! Basically, a chat between Linkara and another champion in the fight, talking about why nothing much has happened in Linkara's universe for a while (different universes on different timestreams, and the all-powerful race holding the contest trying to keep things synced up), and setting up a "Vyce had followers and one might be coming for you, Linkara" plot thread. I am intrigued!
-->Watched the next episode of James's "Rags To Witches" LP -- Column has learned a few more spells and potions, and has held a few more street sales! We have discovered that the Repairo spell can be used on potions to make them worth more, but that tomes can't be sold, at least from the selling table -- one of the sages actually PICKED UP AND RESHELVED a tome James was trying to sell in Magic HQ. XD Also Column's new cauldron glitched out, meaning she lost some apples trying to make potions but the game not letting her complete the action. *grumbles* On the plus side, Plahn Tayne is now magical as well, and as a result is hanging out in her fairy outfit all the time. XD It's as hilariously ridiculous as it sounds and I love it. Makes me want the pack all over again. . .if only I can get past the bugs. . .
-->Got my Victor Luvs Alice queue sorted for a few nights -- did another timeline post for Londerland Bloodlines on AU Thursday, and found an old post on Victor's Otherland I did in 2013 that I could reblog and update for Forgotten Vows Friday. Yay being kind of ahead of the game! Still have to figure out my song choice for Saturday, but -- got a tiny bit of a buffer, at least.
And now it's time to shut up shop and head to bed for the night -- work tomorrow! At least the party should be nice? Honestly, I just hope the cupcakes taste good. . . Fingers crossed, everyone! Night!
