Another Quiet Day
Oct. 14th, 2019 11:27 pmThough I managed to spend less time rereading my old fanfic this time, yay. XD Here's what I did accomplish:
-->Watched a bunch of stuff in my Watch Later queue, including:
A) Two Kevin videos -- him playing LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga (and just wailing on every enemy he could find to reduce them to studs XD Also loving everything about Chewbacca), and him playing Slime Rancher (and turning his ranch into an overcrowded pit of horror, which resulted in his Slimes becoming dangerous Tarrs that tried to eat him XD)
B) GrayStillPlays This Is Your Life Now, a surprisingly grim "life simulator" where your player character runs across the screen, and picks up and loses various followers based on choices you can make (such as buying an expensive car costing you your partner). Gray did two runs -- one actively trying to make the most unsafe choices possible, the other seeing what happens when you don't choose anything (you basically get addicted to something and then die).
C) Outstar's latest faction video for Bloodlines 2, the Unseen! Which boils down to "the Nosferatu consider themselves a faction as much as a clan these days, and they'll be willing to help your Thin-Blood -- for a price." Kind of like the Newcomers being pretty much the Tremere. Should make for some interesting gameplay -- at least, that's what I'm hoping!
D) Two OXBox/OXtra list videos -- one about weirdly lethal ways games punished you for lagging (such as Sonic in Sonic CD literally leaping out of the game if you left him standing around too long, Wolverine getting exploded by a little girl android in Wolverine: Adamantium Rage if you took too long in a level, or a spelunker in Spelunky getting chased by a terrible ghost that will turn them into giblets if they don't get to the exit in time); the other about the absolute bangers in video game music they love (my own favorite was Jane picking the opening theme of Doom (2016), though I have a fondness for Luke trying to sell everyone on the awful midi guitar tunes of Animal Crossing's K.K. Slider. XD)
E) The latest Hitman 2 escalation from OXBox! The Merle Revelation Escalation, to be precise, on the Columbia map. One had to eliminate increasing numbers of people as the local shaman, and the final level added the complication that you had to have people FOLLOWING YOU while you took care of the last two. Fortunately, they follow you at a respectful distance that allows you to commit murder. XD Jane, Mike, and Andy banged this one out with no problem, and got a "puke grenade" for their trouble -- a grenade that emits an emetic gas that makes people throw up! Unfortunately, it proved to be rather lame -- you can't use it most general crowd NPCs, it only gets two people at a time, the puking animation is easily interrupted, and you only get one to play around with. *sigh* Still, I always enjoy watching these three play Hitman -- the blend of playstyles from "professional" to "pure chaos" is always a delight. :)
-->Played some more Bloodlines -- completed the museum mission, which -- well, Alice relied heavily on the Obfuscate. Enough that I felt justified in spending most of my accumulated experience on getting level 4. I'm hoping to actually max that one out by the end of the game -- given Alice is supposed to be so good with it she can climb the Venture Tower at the end of the game unnoticed until she deliberately breaks it, it feels appropriate. At any rate, we've discovered the sarcophagus missing, had a nice long chat with Beckett about vampire mythology which raised my scholarship stat, reported to LaCroix and got ordered to go to Hollywood, and checked in with the Anarchs (who were pretty annoyed with me, but who can blame them, given I'm kind of the reason Nines had to go into hiding). Cleared up all of my Downtown quests, though, which is good -- now it's time to visit Hollywood! (After maybe stopping at Confession to pick up some cash.) Also had the "Heather Event" where she traps a guy in the bathroom for you to feed on -- normally I wouldn't think much of this, as obviously the Heather stuff isn't going to majorly affect my story, buuut when I went to go let the guy out -- his subtitles said his name was McFly. Okay, DEFINITELY have to work this into the fic somehow! I'm thinking I'll make the guy Marty's brother Dave, and this might be moved to AFTER Victoria joins the gang (possibly even after Emily, Lizzie, and Bonejangles show up), and it's less "someone lured this guy into the apartment for Alice to snack on" and more "this drunk guy came here thinking it was his apartment and he won't leave so we put him in the bathroom so he doesn't throw up on stuff." We'll see how it goes. XD
-->Writing today consisted mainly of updating my "Londerland Bloodlines" notes, natch -- still counts! Important timeline stuff happening here!
-->Got my pictures sorted for the upcoming Newcrest Adventures update on tumblr (four-parter, as it features more magical shenanigans AND a holiday), though I was only able to get one set of pictures into the queue (because, well, I was doing other stuff and updated late). Still better than nothing!
And now I have to get to bed because I do have work tomorrow, meh. At least the weather's supposed to be better this week, for the most part. And I have to remember that every other week is a short week for the foreseeable future, so that's nice. Night all!
