As in, my parents had some sort of argument over replacing our stove (since the one we currently have is pretty old and kind of shitty -- fortunately that stupid buzzer hasn't yet come back on, but -- bracing myself), so they were in moods most of the day. Plus one of my mom's friends is in the hospital, so that didn't help matters either. And, of course, when they're in moods, I can feel it, and it tends to put me in a mood -- or, at least, makes me want to get away from the mood. *sigh*

Going to get my costume didn't help matters -- not only were the first options we looked at SUPER expensive, we had an awful time trying to price two possible dresses we found that didn't have associated tags. The staff weren't super-helpful in this regard either. . .one got the feeling that none of them really wanted to be there. Which I suppose I understand, I've worked retail too, it was just -- eh. Not great when you yourself are in a mood. Luckily we were able to find a dress/knit top combo that worked, plus a nice hat, so I am set for Halloween.

Also set for Halloween -- the house! Yeah, we ended up skipping bowling for decorating, since if we didn't do it today, the only real chance would have been NEXT weekend, and -- well, Mom and I both thought it would been kind of "what's the point" by then. Hung up the ghosts and bats, and got some fresh spiderweb we strung up all over the porch. Plus a bunch of spider rings to stick into it. Came out very nice! :D Plus we carved our jack-o-lantern this year (Mom wants to just write on the other two, so she can keep them a little longer as general fall decorations) -- I suggested the Corpse Bride butterfly originally, but the design didn't look good for a pumpkin once we actually found a picture, so instead we went American McGee's Alice with a Cheshire Cat grin! :D So that was cool. Mom did a good job -- I'll have to get a picture of the pumpkin properly lit up.

Anyway, between going out to get my costume, decorating, helping out with some chores, and generally trying to avoid the "mood," I didn't get a heck of a lot done on the computer side of things. Though I did accomplish a handful of items:

-->Watched an informational video about how Victorian women handled "that time of the month." Not that I intend to include any of this information in a story, but it's good to have just in case -- and besides, I was curious. If you are also curious, seems like the most common solution was a "T-bandage" -- a folded piece of cloth held in place with a special belt. Not the most comfortable of things, but it got the job done.

-->Played some Sims 4 -- a day with Nikal in the lab! She did pretty well, mind-controlling her coworkers via Sim Ray some more and brainstorming with the Invention Constructor. Not to mention stuff kept breaking around her, so she was able to get some good use out of her Repairio spell. :D She and Emmett really need to snag some more magic, though. Maybe next play session I'll have them drop by the Magic Realm quick to see what's available to buy or learn.

-->Watched a video on Sims 4 mods that you might not have heard about, but are super useful/cool. There were a couple of neat ones in there, including a clay lump that your Sim can actually make into pottery objects (and doesn't override the original clay lump); the ability to name birth certificates so you can see which is which at a glance if you have a lot of kids; the ability to use homework to study certain subjects and thus increase certain skills; the ability to reply to fan letters if you're a celebrity (in a variety of ways too!); and -- most appropriate for the season -- more costume options for the "wear costume" tradition! As usual, I saw plenty I wouldn't mind having in my game -- but as "Discover University" is looking more and more like a thing that will happen soon, I am forcing myself to hold off. *sighs* So many mods, so little time. . .

-->Wrote a "Londerland Bloodlines" snippet in the notes doc -- I've been going back and forth with wanting to do more "Londerland Bloodlines" and wanting to do some private "hypnotized/subby Victor" AU stuff, so I split the difference and wrote the beginning of a dream Victor has which tangles up his new ghoulhood with a recurring fantasy he has. ^^; Probably never going to show up in the story proper, but I enjoyed writing it, and if I DO need it for whatever reason. . .

-->Got my Valice Multiverse queue done and a couple of comments taken care of in my inbox, yay~

So yeah, even if it wasn't EVERYTHING I wanted to tackle today, I guess I got enough done to count. :p Now I'm gonna take some time to get at least some of my Sim pictures prepped for the Wednesday update, then hit the sheets. Full week this week, bleh. At least it is also BTTF week. :) Gotta pay our dues to the original mega-fandom around here! But that technically starts tomorrow, so -- night all!
