crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

I mean, I did a bit more than that, but those were the three big things that the day revolved around. To whit:

Good Omens: Watched the second episode at lunch, which introduced the Pulsifer and Nutter/Device families -- and their key members, Anathema and Newt! :D The latter of whom is played by Jack Whitehall and looks much cuter than he has any right to be. Not that the actress behind Anathema, Adria Ajorna, is slacking on her character -- they're both great, for what screen time they've gotten so far, and I look forward to them getting more into the plot. :D And the PAINTBALL SCENE, with Aziraphale and Crowley. . .damn. XD Looking forward to the rest of it! :D

Toy Story 4: Watched that with supper, and -- I liked it! It's a very funny and very heartfelt film, especially when it comes to reintroducing Bo and ending the series. I can definitely see how the ending could be controversial for people, but it didn't feel completely out of place to me -- certainly not with the way Woody's character has been set up. Bittersweet, but not horrible. And damn it, Forky's funny. XD Plus I can recommend seeing it just to play "guess all the celebrity voices" -- there's a few fun cameos, plus one character voice by someone you might not expect. XD

Bloodlines: Played that this afternoon -- turns out the shortcut through the Warrens is a MAJOR shortcut that eliminates almost THE ENTIRE HORRIBLE SLOG. Yes, I did have to fight a couple of the tougher monsters, but I actually avoided the official "boss fight" with one of them, and was able to dive down a sewer pit of despair straight to the Warrens -- WITHOUT having to do that stupid swimming puzzle! Unofficial Plus Patch, I kind of love you. . . Granted, this means Alice entered the Warrens without doing much to combat the Vissitude monsters running around in the sewers, but in-story I can suggest that the Nosferatu were battling them themselves -- just they couldn't make any decent headway with Andrei constantly making MORE. Now that Alice has injured him and forced him to abandon his King's Way headquarters, they can finish mopping up what's left.

Anyway, got into the Warrens, and talked to Mitnick and Imalia. Turns out they are kind of rude and EXTREMELY rude to Malkavians respectively! Which, you know, I should be USED to, but -- come on, the Nosferatu are supposed to be a bit NICER about that, given their own deformities, right? Uuugh. . . I barely need to invent reasons for Alice to dislike almost all other vampires if this is how she keeps getting greeted by people! Anyway, she's picked up the SchrekNet quest from Mitnick -- I decided against pursuing Imalia's Tawni quest because Alice would never say yes to it anyway. She also exchanged banter with Gary and got the "request" to go to Chinatown and pick up his agent Barbarus there in exchange for information on the sarcophagus. All in a night's work. . .though I actually ended the night in my timeline shortly after that -- I figured fighting Andrei and finding her way through the sewers and Warrens would be a full night's work for her! She's currently back in her haven after having spoken to Isaac, who has promised her payment for her work (about time, Isaac). Next time -- time to see what side quests have popped up in the e-mail, talk to Isaac, see if I can pimp for Romero (extra XP, yay), then it's off to Chinatown!

Other things accomplished today include:

-->A short Call Me Kevin marathon, involving a round each in:

A) Parkitect (Kevin put the bathrooms at the top of an elevator ride, along a huge elevated path, then designed all his rides to drop people in the numerous lakes of his park area to drown. Then turned the water into lava once he realized that was an option XD)

B) Bitlife (Kevin set out to make the worst person possible, and created "Kevin Notme," who murdered his brother and two ex-girlfriends, escaped from jail numerous times, had three children -- abandoned the first one and named the third "The third one" -- spent some time as a water slide tester, and eventually died from TB in prison serving a sentence of over 3,000 years. That's our Kevin! XD)

C) Boneworks (Kevin puts on his VR headset to experience a game where -- well, I'm not sure what the plot is, but it involves a lot of running, jumping, playing with cubes, running from angry men before hitting them with a hammer, and having to avoid a giant crusher thing. Kevin had a blast, especially when he discovered that he could use things in the environment on other things -- like using a baseball bat to open a door or flick a switch! Apparently this is an unknown quantity in VR, so that's cool)

D) Superliminal (Kevin completes the puzzle game about perception and manipulating objects via perception, somehow without completely breaking his brain. XD That game is a total trip -- made even worse when Kevin becomes convinced there HAS to be a jump scare in it somewhere. XD (There isn't, by the by -- not one I saw in his videos, anyway.) The dream logic is great, and Kevin's exasperated flailing against it even better XD)

-->Also watched one of Outstar's VtM videos, this one on the new game Coteries of New York! It's a visual novel-style game from a Polish company, where you are a new vampire (either Ventrue, Brujah, or Toreador) in New York, who has to find themselves a coterie and just survive the general chaos of the night. It's mostly "read text, make choice," though you do apparently have a Hunger meter to keep track of (lest your character go on some sort of rampage), and you can use disciplines in dialogue options, it seems. Plus you have a lore encyclopedia to fill out, so that's fun. Outstar seemed to enjoy her time with the two builds she played (one an early-game one, another a later-game one), so that was good. Dunno if I'll check it out, but hey -- we'll see. (She is doing an LP now that the game's fully released, so maybe I'll give that a look first?)

-->Got up the next Scene From Secundus: Sleigh Bells FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM, featuring a rocket sleigh gone bad. Now with a little more "acknowledging the people who's shop just got smashed in because my characters aren't total dickheads, this was a mechanical failure and they'd be genuinely worried." Sooo yeah -- that's Christmassy, right? :p

And now I'm doing a bit of the RP thing -- time to sort out queues and get the comments still lurking in my inbox answered! Tomorrow: decorating for Christmas, football games, and Sims without a specific plan! Should be fun. :) Night all!
