Though I managed to keep it in my head that it was Saturday today. . .mostly because I did have some cleaning to do. Though I ended up not doing a full clean, but just some light dusting and a vacuum. I didn't really feel like doing the whole shebang, and when I test-ran my fingers over some of my shelves, I came up with so little dust, I felt like they could manage for a while longer. Come on, it's right before Christmas -- I can take breaks if I want!

Anyway, day didn't start off particularly great -- while I was changing the sheets on my bed, my light suddenly hummed and went dim for a few seconds. Reason for this?

Well, the heating element in our ancient 70s oven broke and fell on the metal drip pan, causing a short. Nothing happened, but obviously the oven part doesn't work anymore. (The stovetop still functions fine, fortunately.) And trying to find a heating element for a stove that is about as old as my mother is -- not going to be easy. *grumbles* Neither is replacing the stove, actually -- it's one of those that is sort of built-in to the counter and doesn't go all the way to the ground. Replacing it would require some reno work, and -- who wants to do that so close to Christmas? *sigh* Fortunately Mom was cooking chicken for chicken soup when the element went, and could just finish that up in a pan, and we have leftovers to tide us over for a few days, but this does make mealtimes a little more interesting. *grumbles* I'm sure we'll manage, it's just a "eh" situation.

Once we got through that, though, I can't say I had much to complain about:

-->Watched some more GrayStillPlays, because of course I did XD Judging terrible people who killed their own children innocent in Blind Justice, becoming a doctor/sex worker who had three failed breast augmentations and was married to both a sex addict and a condom supplier in Simulives, being an evil god who refuses to answer prayers unless they have a chance to backfire horrible in Prayr, and being the most hated and useless president and dying alone and naked in their own tears in Sim President -- Gray had it all! :D Plus I've got a couple of his Sims 4 videos to catch up on tomorrow. . .

-->Played some Bloodlines -- turned into "let's go back to Santa Monica" day after checking my e-mails. Not only did I get the expected e-mails from Mitnick regarding the first SchreckNet hub in the Megahurtz Computers shop there, and Bertram regarding his missing data disk, I also got one from Beckett for his restored quest, which involved going to the local Smoke Shop to talk to his friend Scott about that Lasombra that keeps appearing down there! Plus Gary sent me the first of his poster quest e-mails, so I'll have to remember to get that "Tap Hotel" tape -- I believe it's in the theater where the gargoyle lives. Anyway, I completed the stuff for Bertram (yay free Computer point!) and Mitnick (easy peasy lemon squeezy), then set on the Beckett quest! Which -- had me going to the pier one step too early, because I thought the smoke shop was there. XD But I found the right place eventually and followed the trail properly -- including killing the Sabbat Gangrel who tried sneaking up on me when I visited the pier again. I'm currently in the library itself, holed up in the art gallery -- shall save Beckett's friend Scott next time I play!

-->Got my notes written up for the Londerland Bloodlines timeline, and edited a gift fic (one set in the Londerland Bloodlines verse, no less)! So that's solid. :D

-->Watched the OXBox/OXtra Christmas challenges!

OXBox: Jane had to play Santa in Whittlestone Creek in Hitman 2, gathering items to leave at people's houses as presents, then delivering them all to the eight houses in the middle of the map without causing a scene in 20 minutes. Also, if there was at least one person inside a house, Jane had to subdue them so they'd be properly asleep for their Christmas morning. :p Jane got about halfway through dropping off stuff like baseballs, snowballs, apples, and soda cans in houses before getting compromised -- but the thing that actually killed her run was -- well, her own death. She forgot one of the houses on her list was filled to the brim with antsy guys with guns, and. . .yeah. No Christmas point for Jane, which means Andy retains his 1-point lead over the other two! Time to Mike to step up his game tomorrow. . .

OXtra: Time for the standard Grand Theft Auto Online race! This year's route -- from the top of Mt. Chillead to the end of the game's version of the Santa Monica pier! The pair were supposed to jump from a helicopter onto the top of the mountain to start, but -- well, they redefined that to "landing on the helicopter on top of the mountain because neither were sure getting into a helicopter automatically gave you a parachute and nobody wanted to die right at the beginning." XD (For reference, yes, it looks like it does. :p) Both of them made pretty decent time down the mountain, but Luke's insistence on taking terrible "shortcuts" and firing at civilians meant that he completed the route at 11:15 minutes, whereas Ellen, who obeyed more traffic laws and stayed on the road, managed it in 8:05. So our two OXtras are tied again! Now time to see who will take the next challenge. . .

-->Got up the next Scene From Secundus: Gingerbread, as inspired by Shrek 2. One of those I rewrote a bit of, so hope you like the new version! (It's not as different as some of them have been, but it has been tweaked.)

And I'm currently -- well, it's really more of the messaging thing tonight, not RP. Which is fine -- I'm doing other things too. Gonna stick a few things in the VictorLuvsAlice queue, then see if I can call it a night before 2 AM. I keep waking up a bit early because of a need to use the toilet, and -- yeah, could probably use some more sleep. At least I have plenty of time to catch up on it. . . Anyway! Night all!
