Aaand our oven STILL does not work. Despite the fact that we got the new heating element in today. My dad installed the damn thing, fiddled with it twice -- nothing. It's just not heating up. We're not sure if we've gotten the wrong part for the oven; if there's something wrong with the part; or if there's something wrong with the oven (either the old part shorting out damaging something else deeper in it, or something else already being damaged shorting out the old part). And, of course, it being Christmas means we can't exactly get a repairman, or even a replacement part, anytime soon. *siiiigh* And we were all looking forward to the stupid thing getting fixed today. . . To be fair, I suppose it was kind of a longshot, simply because of the age of the oven -- almost 57. The damn thing was made in the 60s. And, as stated, because it's an oven that sits IN the counter. . . We're hoping after Christmas we can get it sorted, but we'll see. In the meantime, Mom's planning meals that only require the stovetop.

So yeah, that was kind of stressful, and didn't exactly do great things for my morning. My afternoon, at least, was somewhat more productive:

-->Went on a grocery run for Mom to pick up some oil, ice cream, and those darn scratch tickets! Fortunately I was able to find the latter at the store's ticket machine, yay~ And both the oil and the ice cream were on sale, so I was only out like 8 bucks for those. So at least we can have ice cream for the next few nights. (We're going out to eat for my birthday, so we can get cake then.)

-->Finished off my gift fics, with a last-minute addition and a last-minute edit to a previously-written one. All the fics that need to be on tumblr are queued up for tomorrow, and the ones that will be on here are ready to be posted. :) Whew!

-->Played some Bloodlines -- I managed to find my way around the library and get down to the ritual room, save Beckett's friend Scott, and kill the Lasombra -- though the latter took some doing! And some "hugging this one pillar in the room so I had some cover as we shot at each other." On the plus side, I got TWO new swords out of it -- a broadsword (lying on a coffin as part of the ritual) and a katana (taken off the ashes of the Lasombra). So that was nice. I also hit Hollywood and got my reward from Isaac (the Pearl of Dubai, a mystical artifact that ups Alice's Charisma) and pimped for Romero! XD So that's some nice experience gains and quests done! Though I'm not sure what to spend my experience on. . .do I save up for the final level of Obfuscate, or do I give myself some more Dexterity to offset the damage from my heavier armor? Hmmm. . . Figure it out the next time I boot up the game, I suppose. :p

-->Had an OXmas Eve with the gang:

Final OXBox Christmas Challenge: Jane versus Wrestling for a Christmas point! The challenge was a Santa Battle Royal in WWE2020, with Jane playing one of the custom Santas up for download. Her challengers were a mix of variously-well-known wrestlers, some guy who looked like he'd come in off the street to watch the wrestling and got pulled in, and "Ribbie," the rib mascot of something or other. Goal was to be the last one standing in the Battle Royal -- and Jane was I think either the second or third one out. XD Poor girl just couldn't figure out the controls in time to stop her character getting tossed out of the ring. So Andy is Official Christmas Champion, and he shall rule with an iron fist~ XD

Final OXtra Christmas Challenge: Luke Vs Ellen in Kingdom Hearts 3 Arendelle Sledding! Not strictly necessary, as Luke had already won the title of Christmas King, but they decided there was no point in letting a challenge go to waste. And it was really a good job that Luke HAD already won the title, as Ellen trounced him in this challenge! I mean, the first couple of runs, their scores weren't that far apart -- but then Ellen managed a no damage run, and -- well, Luke just couldn't top that. So Ellen may not have finished with the Christmas championship, but at least she ended with her pride. XD And Luke can proudly proclaim himself Christmas King for the year, yaaaay~

OXBox Christmas Livestream: This was a few days ago, but I only got the chance to watch it today (after getting my queuing sorted) -- Hitman 2 Santa 47 mania! :D Mike had unlocked the Santa suit on his account the night before, and so they all took turns doing contracts in said Santa suit. Results were. . .well, let's just say that Andy's initial kill -- at a festive version of the Japanese hospital/spa from the first game -- was the easiest and cleanest of the contracts. XD Mike ended up going in circles while attempting an elusive target and got himself murdered; Jane got shot attempting a festive contract after a poorly-timed non-target murder; Andy tried to be a stealthy murder Santa on another contract, only to end up strangling a guy in BROAD DAYLIGHT; Mike attempted a "Die Hard" style mission and ended up going on a complete murder spree; and Jane screwed up a contract where you're supposed to explode people by sending propane tanks down chimneys by not realizing -- well, that's what you're supposed to do, and instead trying to kill them through more conventional explosives. XD Chaos is a ladder and I am here to climb that ladder. XD

All right, so I've MOSTLY gotten all the stuff I need to get done, done -- but there's still a few things left to do. Got a couple of comments to answer on the RP side of things, and the first chapter of Secundus 2 to get up for Christmas. So I'd better get on that. Hope you all had a decent Christmas Eve! See you after Santa comes!
