Things Done Saturday
Feb. 22nd, 2020 11:22 pmIt was a bit of a slow start this morning, due to a combination of "I'm always kind of lazy on weekend mornings" and trying to do more of the puzzle (the bottom part is almost all filled in now, yay), but I did manage to accomplish a lot!
-->Got my room cleaned up, as per usual for every other Saturday
-->Despite the late start due to cleaning and puzzle, still fit in a lot of YouTube:
A) A Helloween4545 unboxing! Yeah, he got a box of goodies from a new horror game, World of Horror, which takes a lot of inspiration from Junji Ito -- box included cookies, a mysterious floppy, and a mega-volume of Ito's Uzumaki manga. Nice to see him being his goofy self about it all again, even if I'm probably not going to watch his streams on the game itself. (I'm not really a fan of Ito's -- the body horror he favors is often a bit much for me, and I'm not crazy about his art style.)
B) A Fun With Shorts featuring a super-old short from 1929 about talkie cartoons and how they're made, via the medium of two annoying pieces of living celluloid pestering a scientist and then each other. Weird, but Josh had good riffs and the annoying characters were eaten by a sea monster at the end, so can't complain. :P
C) The Kubz Scouts doing another 60 Seconds Reatomized challenge mode -- "Reinforced Parenting," where the children must be protected at all costs (no scavenging, instant game over if they die/run away), and you have to survive 50 days without any weapons at all. Took Jay five extremely frustrating tries, but eventually he managed it (lost Dolores early on, but he did get Pancake, so -- *shrugs*).
D) Call Me Kevin plays Death and Taxes, another game I first saw on GrayStillPlay's channel -- Kevin showed off a LOT more of it, though. I had no idea you could actually customize your character! Or buy things for their desk! And that there was more of a plot than Gray let on! Weird. . .but hey, Kevin STILL caused plenty of chaos by killing too many people too often, so I'm all for that. XD
E) Call Me Kevin plays Rain On Your Parade, where you are a cloud, and you must ruin people's days in a variety of ways. Sounds like Untitled Goose Game, right? Well, there are a lot of similarities. . .but that's not the only game Rain On Your Parade is aping, let's just say that. It's silly and chaotic and looks like loads of fun -- Kevin certainly enjoyed all the chaos! XD Particularly the zombie apocalypse level. . .
F) Call Me Kevin plays more Bitlife! And he finally plays it the way we all expected. . .becoming a serial killer. XD "Not Guilty" started out strong by getting depression at 3 years old, then murdering a classmate at 7, but then got caught while attempting to club their mom to death and ended up in a cycle of going to prison, escaping prison, trying to murder/emigrate, then getting sent back to prison for hilariously long amounts of time. I think the number of years they had to serve was in the billions by the end -- and w000 boy, the app DID NOT LIKE that. Poor Kevin could barely open anything near the end, and the death screen apparently took an HOUR to come up for him when they died of TB. Still, one of his more successful lives! At least Not Guilty got to follow their passion, unlike his actors. :p
-->Played some Bloodlines -- I tried to go back and see LaCroix to get that "hey I heard you have an alliance with Ming Xiao" conversation I forgot to do before, but Chunk wouldn't let me up! Apparently LaCroix was in a bad mood and not seeing anyone. Not dialogue I'd ever seen before, so that was cool. :) Anyway, took a brief detour after that to pick up the tape of Imalia Gary wanted for his poster quest from Carson's apartment in Santa Monica, then headed over to Chinatown to start on the remaining side quests there. Started Yukie's by visiting her noodle shop, then popped over to the White Cloud and did both of Mr. Ox's quests, picking up some nice items along the way. "Vision of Death" definitely makes the second quest easier! And I discovered a fun bug in the Lotus Blossom's soak room -- if your character crouches in the corner of the smaller bath against the wall, and then you start looking around, they'll abruptly start bouncing in place. XD So yeah, that was fun. I'm actually back at the apartment now as I wanted to drop off the next two items in the poster quest to make sure I had room in my inventory for stuff (it's getting rather full with all the stat-boosting items I'm carrying!), but it'll be back to Chinatown next time I play to do the last bit of "A Tangled Web" (I have to pick up something from that location to continue the poster quest anyway), finish up Yukie's quest, and do the quest with the hitmen before I can call it a day officially and have Alice start moving toward the endgame. Oh, and also, I had a bunch of XP, so I went ahead and maxed Obfuscate. Should be able to open doors now without breaking cover, yay! :D
-->Gave Chapter One of "Secundus 2" a proper look-over -- didn't change much, though I tweaked a sentence here and there and corrected some typos I missed. Also added end-of-chapter notes for the references and such. Refresh your memory of it here! Next week, we actually start getting proper new content. ;)
-->Also revised my gift fic for tomorrow and got it into my VictorLuvsAlice queue -- still gotta finish that up, but at least that's sorted and my friend will have something.
And now I'm currently doing some of the RP thing, catching up on tags and working on getting my Londerland Bloodlines notes written up and my queues sorted. So yeah, pretty productive Saturday, all things considered. And we had pizza from Twin's for supper, so that was nice too. :p
Anyway -- back to the grind! Tomorrow -- Linkara, OXBox, James Turner, Sims 4 (where I work on another lot swap!). Night all!
