Reasonably Quiet Thursday
Feb. 27th, 2020 11:23 pmThe people in the back seemed to have managed the big project I was expecting themselves, at least for today, so that was nice. Put some stuff back in the mail, passed some things onto others, worked on updating records with new addresses/"this person is dead and has been dead for a while. . ." Also ATTEMPTED a walk at lunch, but had to make it a shorter than usual one because woo-wee did the temperature DROP! Wind picked up too, which is never fun. Expected windchill tonight is supposed to be in the teens, and the next couple of days should only be in the 30s. *sigh* Well, I didn't have any plans beyond video games, writing, and completing my taxes (if only because TurboTax keeps pestering me to do it).
Anyway, your usual nightly report:
-->Got my VictorLuvsAlice queue sorted for the next few days! I already had my Friday post drafted, which helped, and I also knew exactly which Poets of the Fall song I wanted to feature. :p So that's good.
-->Got another chunk of "Secundus 2" Chapter 5 edited -- I have established Lightning is back at the McFly Farm because of my previously establishing everyone in Hill Valley ("everyone" here being defined as "the mayor and those three old-timers in the saloon") is freaked out by corgis. I have also established that Jennifer is not a bridezilla and Doc has something set up to deal with pranksters on his property (have not yet established it's taken, with some modifications, from the "how Doc and Marty met" comics). We have ended on the revelation that Gordon Tannen is causing trouble. Good times~
-->GrayStillPlays marathon! I had five videos backed up in my queue, and I decided I wanted to tackle them:
A) Power and Revolution -- only Gray wasn't interested in the title, he was more interested in seeing what happened to the world if you made the entire population sterile and took away all healthcare. Result? China takes over most of the Asian continent, then America (renamed Hell) swoops in to steal it all after multiple wars with Canada and Mexico; there are many riots and fires, but not a lot of famine; and we're all dead by 2060 or so. Yay?
B) Bio Inc. Redemption -- a game at least semi-based on Plague Inc, only you're concentrating on a sole person and trying to kill them with a VARIETY of bad healthcare options and diseases. Gray tortured Karen with everything he had, trying to make her die from dumb stuff. First round, she perished from salmonella; second time, she lived because her depression managed to slow down the failure of her nervous system (yes); third time, he got his wish and got her with hemorrhoids that destroyed her renal system, then somehow her bones. Fun!
C) Plague Inc. -- speaking of which, time for another round of that! Gray's disease of choice was a brain worm that made people make poor life choices -- namely, sexing each other up all the time. It was pretty hilarious seeing all the various sex puns in the symptoms and transmission vectors. XD And he successfully wiped out the globe with the help of "The Thanos Effect" and friendzoning. Unbelievable. XD
D) Hurricane Outbreak -- we've killed people with diseases, now it's time to do it with weather! Weather supercharged by global warming, no less -- ever wonder what a category 10 hurricane looks like? It is frighteningly huge. Gray had a BLAST making his hurricanes do loop-de-loops and invade Canada. XD But then again, as a Floridian, a chance to control hurricanes is probably a form of deep-seated vengeance on the weather for him.
E) Talk To Strangers: Afternoon Delight -- And we end on a round of the angriest, most depressed door-to-door salesman taking on the weirdest neighborhood in suburbia. Deaths this time included helping awaken the Goddess of Sales to her destiny (and getting burned up by her glow); getting imprisoned after revealing himself to be a serial killer hiding from the law (he apparently kills people with pipes); getting killed by a robot at the start of the "robot butler revolution;" and becoming one with the abyss to sell things FOREVER ("shit," as he so eloquently put it). XD You know a game is good when it throws even Gray for a loop!
-->Got my Valice Multiverse queue all sorted too -- just a bunch of asks, which I'd already done this morning! Okay then, more time to catch up on the nonsense going on in the vtmb tag. XD
And I've answered the comments that were in my inbox previously, so it's time to wrap up and head to bed. One more day of work to get through, then I get to have a weekend, yay~ And we're wrapping up February too, double yay~ Here's hoping the mild weather continues into March! Night all!
