crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

Yeah, I think I am moving into PMS territory now -- I got a bit unreasonably annoyed at Mom interrupting me getting ready to start up Fallout 4 to show me something she'd just discovered on YouTube (I did apologize for being a bit snappy, and the thing was funny -- Jimmy Carr's doing a "Tiny Little Quiz of the Lockdown" to keep people entertained while we're in quarantine), and a bit more reasonably annoyed this evening when I kind of had to fight YouTube to watch the two GrayStillPlays videos in my Watch Later queue (not sure WHAT happened, just the buffering suddenly went to hell, and I had to turn down the quality a smidge to get one video to play to the end). I WAS expecting my period near the beginning of April, so this is not entirely unexpected -- just annoying. Hopefully I can control the bitchy. . .and at least I don't have to drive anywhere or interact with any coworkers like this! Or while I'm on my period. Small mercies.

Despite my hormones possibly being out of control, I had a pretty good day:

-->Work was really quiet -- my two coworkers got to a couple of things in the inbox before I did, and the one I picked up had to go to my boss anyway, sooo that was nice. Took advantage of the time to do a little more queuing on Victor Luvs Alice (put up a chunk of "Londerland Bloodlines" for people to enjoy on Thursday) and getting replies drafted for Valice Multiverse (bunch of asks, one thread).

-->Watched some Jay trying to complete the "Alphabet Killer" challenge (where you have to kill all the inhabitants of the school in alphabetical order) in Yandere Simulator over two videos -- and failing miserably because the larger student population, more complex routines, better AI, and difficulty in getting anyone alone means it's pretty much impossible to get much past the As before someone spots evidence of your wrongdoing. At least Jay raging over both videos was pretty funny. XD

-->Played Fallout 4 after watching the Tiny Quiz -- faced down Slag, leader of the Forged! A bad motherf-er with power armor, the heirloom sword I was sent to retrieve, and a little skull icon next to his name, meaning I was definitely underleveled for him.

My ALIEN BLASTER was most certainly NOT underleveled for him. I did restart the boss fight three times, but not because Slag HIMSELF was particularly difficult (especially not with both Preston and Jake backing me up with FLAMETHROWERS). No, the first time was because I attempted to convince Jake to come home nicely, and as usual Victor whiffed the persuasion attempt. (My Bloodlines version of Alice is the most persuasive vampire on the planet despite being on one of the lowest rungs of Kindred society; my Fallout Victor, who is General of the Minutemen and constantly running around helping settlements and clearing out raiders, has passed a Charisma check like ONCE. I've got him on 5 now, but it's clearly not enough!) Fortunately I had already read up on this, and knew the sarcastic option would also work, mostly by not giving Jake any encouragement to actually kill his prisoner. However, said settler actually ended up killed during the ensuing firefight, so I reloaded again to see if I could keep him alive -- and I could! :D So quest ended with Slag dead, a rescued settler (whom I gave some molotovs to, because it felt like the nice thing to do), and Jake awkwardly reuniting with his family. Fortunately his mother got him and his father to make up, and I got to keep the heirloom sword. Which is nice and all, but I don't really use melee weapons in this game. . .probably should give it a try, though.

After that (and a level up -- now 25! Picked the SCIENCE! perk so I can eventually upgrade my blaster and give it an ammunition source I can refresh), it was time for settlement maintenance (namely, giving the Finches more water and some turrets for protection), and checking out a kidnapping over at County Crossing -- which, happily, was right nearby! The kidnappee was being kept in the Charlestown area, in the BADFTL Regional Office -- which, fortunately, wasn't too far from a location I'd already discovered. Ended up fighting raiders, Super Mutants, and Rust Devils on the way there (Preston, I have discovered, is actually VERY USEFUL when he has the Flamer), then cleaned out the office in more ways than one -- it's an old police station, actually, so there was TONS of good ammo and other stuff. :D And I successfully rescued the kidnapped person!

TURNS OUT DARKENED OPTIONS CAN STILL TOTALLY BE PICKED, GUYS!

Yup, what I thought was a bug on a previous kidnap mission that wouldn't let me pick the option to free someone is apparently JUST THE STUPID OPTION SHOWING UP A DIFFERENT COLOR. *grumbles* Well, at least I didn't feel like I had to reload/redo a bunch of progress this time around! So we all headed back to County Crossing, I got my reward and approval from Strong (bleh) and Preston (yay). And then I checked on my workshops, and saw the Finch farm, despite having enough of everything, had the little "warning" symbol next to their name. I have learned this means "settler quest," so I went over there -- turns out they're being bothered by raiders AGAIN. Fortunately they are nearby raiders, and ordinary ones too, so killing them shan't be a problem. (Hell, my turrets took out one while I was talking with Abraham about the issue! XD)

And all this good behavior means Preston now idolizes me, and we had a sweet conversation about how he'd basically become a Death Seeker until the opening story mission where I met him and helped him and his ragtag team survive the raider attack. We are now basically officially best friends, and I have his special perk, United We Stand -- 20% more damage, 20% more damage resistance while facing groups of three or more. I'll take it. :D

Whew, that was a lot, wasn't it? Short version -- did a bunch of Minutemen stuff, defeated a boss the game said I should have trouble with pretty handily, am now besties with Preston. Good session!

-->Did some more on "Secundus 2" -- Doc happily explained all his time travel hopes to Clara, who was fascinated, and then the conversation segued to their mutual love of Jules Verne, and naturally the sparks are flying. Richard's just interjected to remind them that the rest of them are there, but they're gonna have more moments, trust me. And everybody else at that picnic is gonna be all for matchmaking. XD

-->Watched two Call Me Kevin videos and three GrayStillPlays videos -- despite YouTube's best efforts, as described above:

A) Kevin continued his Animal Crossing New Horizons adventures, inviting a bunch of people over to his island to ruin it; scamming birthday presents out of people with the date of birth he put in; getting a house from Tom Nook and painting it all with Jim Picken's face -- and then painting HIS face with Jim Picken's face; and continuing to torment Rory. Good times~

B) Kevin ventured into the strange and baffling world of Roblox, which -- looks like a bunch of MMO minigames? There's a Half-Life 2-inspired city, a terrifying candy-colored nightmare, and a city all about adopting cute animals that hatch out of eggs, for starters. Kevin caused chaos in all of them, telling all and sundry that he likes the Simpsons, hopping in people's cars for rides, and invading people's houses to wash his cat -- and then calling "catnapping" when he's kicked out. XD Oh deary me. . .

C) Gray became an Idol Manager because he wanted to destroy the childhoods of a bunch of anime girls and try to create the worst metal band ever. He instead made an incredibly SUCCESSFUL metal band, making shocking stacks of cash off concerts. And all it took was destroying his girls' health and hopes. And naming them things like Tom Selleck (who ended up depressed). XD

D) Gray ventured back into the world of Two Point Hospital, filling a hospital all about respecting the environment with carnivorous plants and mounted moose heads. Also vomit and pee, because the goal here was to get as many people waiting in line for as long as possible. One guy only got treated after the better part of a YEAR. "Make the hospital of your dreams -- or nightmares" indeed. XD

E) Gray walked into the world of Plutocracy and declared, "I am going to be the best capitalist ever by being a total asshole." And then proceeded to do just that (with the small caveat that, because it made him more money, he paid his workers extremely well. They just had to be at work CONSTANTLY). Making shady deals, selling booze on the sly, merging companies, becoming best buds with the governor through bear rugs. . .he had over a BILLION net worth by the time he stopped playing. We're lucky he confines this sort of thing to YouTube, frankly.

And that's about it for today -- she says, having written what is probably her longest entry in a while. O.o I didn't realize I had so many feelings about Fallout 4. . .well, anyway, time to clean up the inbox and hit the sheets. Tomorrow is Wednesday, the beginning of April, and a day for Sims 4! Videos about it and playing it. Also LEGO Masters, which should be very interesting -- we're in the last three! Looking forward to seeing how it goes. . .night all!
