Surprisingly Relaxing Work-At-Home Day?
May. 12th, 2020 11:21 pmMostly because -- well, I finished the stuff I I'd brought home this morning, then didn't really have anything to do until this afternoon, when my boss wanted me to call this one guy who had to update his credit card number. I kept my work e-mail up and everything all day, but. . .well, in the absence of anything specific to do, I ended up drafting out replies to questions on Valice Multiverse, fixing up my Victor Luvs Alice queue (Newcrest Adventures update all set, as well as Thurday's AU post), looking at more Fallout 4 Nexus Mods (even if I won't download most of them, they tend to be neat -- and I did actually find one that improves the "Strong Back" perk to make your apparel weightless after a certain rank that I would like to try out), and even watching a bit of YouTube near the end. *shrug* You know what, I'll take this. It's preferable to the "homework" days, honestly. I think that's what annoyed me most about yesterday, honestly -- having to take work home with me. I'm used to being done when I go home from the office, no matter what time it is. Having more to do at home (especially in a pandemic where I get anxious about bringing stuff inside the house) -- meh. It just rubs me the wrong way. Fortunately the worst of it should be this week, with the 9 to 1 hours. Next week, when we move to 9 to 3, maybe "homework" won't be a thing. And if my Friday is anything like today, that'll be nice too.
Anyway, a few other notes about the day:
-->Today's YouTubery was brought to you from mainly three sources:
A) FluffyNinjaLlama, with Piper accusing Mayor McDonough's secretary of sleeping with him when she can't get in to see him (hey now Piper); companions reacting to the Boston Public Library (a few companions bemoan the loss of the books, Curie is not pleased with the sorting, Preston has big goals to rebuild the place, and MacCready drops a Ghostbusters ref); companions reacting to College Square (nobody seems to mind that ferals ripped through the raiders that were living there); and two mod videos showing off a special milk-themed outfit for Strong (whose goal is to find the "milk of human kindness" – it even has a little baby bottle for him to drink from!), and a "Kellogg's Corn Flakes" outfit for Kellogg (one of the main baddies – and once you kill him, YOU can equip it!). XD Good stuff
B) A whole bunch of Call Me Kevin, including him and RT causing some serious damage to people's furniture in Moving Out (so many beds, TVs, and chairs were yeeted – occasionally across rivers!); a trip to Creature Street to suss out a murder in a knock-off Animal Crossing (Kevin managed to stumble across the true murderer more or less by accident – and got his character killed for his trouble XD); another visit to Turg's family in Sims 4 to see what the kids looked like (about as terrifying as you'd expect – though most of them ended up with no chin, somehow. Also, Turg died apparently completely at random o.O Admittedly, there WERE a lot of fires happening as the children were aged up. . .); and a game of Trouble in Terrorist Town with some of the other Irish lads (Kevin proved to be shockingly lethal with bowling balls – and not much else XD).
C) And some more GrayStillPlays to top it all off, with a coaster designed to "cure" people's fear of the water in Planet Coaster (it started off with a lot of sharks, and ended with so many sharks it started affecting the fps); the uranium-mining town of Yeetus in Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic (a town that is basically nothing but nuclear power plant cooling towers and pubs – the children start off at 50% alcohol addiction, and this somehow makes them live longer than their less-sober peers); and flying into birds during tornadoes with propeller planes in XPlane11 (the Cessna didn't do so well under such conditions. Granted, neither did the Boeing 747. Or the helicopter. Or especially the ultralight). So that was all a lot of fun!
-->I actually downloaded all the manual files of the mods I want to slowly add to my game, so that's a step in the right direction. Still need to start adding them into Vortex, and making sure my game can handle each one, and making sure they're in the right load order. . . Seriously, I so wish this was easier. Why can I not just put a file in a folder that lets me have apple trees. . .
-->Did the second draft of my other gift fic for this week (tumblr friend, on Saturday). So that's all set now! And tomorrow I can resume writing about Alice's adventures with Ocean House ghosts and my mad scientists getting into shenanigans at a Hill Valley festival. XD
-->And I just got the queue for The Valice Multiverse sorted, so, good to go there! Just gotta answer the final comment then head to bed! Hopefully I sleep better tonight than last. . .and then it's back to the office again! At least now I have that link to the self-test and don't have to worry about THAT. And hopefully I can just take a couple of pieces of roster maintenance home with me and not get too anxious about that sort of thing either. We'll see. Night all!
