Caught Up Thursday

As in, I have finally caught up on pretty much all the processing that I needed to do at work! :D Did a big push with the last of some capital campaign stuff, leaving just two mystery checks, some ACH stuff, and some CFRI stuff for tomorrow. Which is good, because my supervisor was asking about the roster maintenance and returned mail again. . .fortunately I have some time to work on that sort of thing now, yay. Just hope it lasts!

Not much else to report on today:

-->Le hot one -- upper 80s and lower 90s! We ended up staying inside the house with the lights off and the shades closed to try and keep ourselves from baking. I WAS gonna try an exercise video, but got distracted looking at more Fallout 4 mods on Nexus, because that is what I do. (There's just so many neat ones!)

-->Did some more on Chapter 8 of "Secundus 2" -- Gordon has dropped the bombshell about Victor's spiders, leading to -- well, quite a lot of uncomfortableness. Poor Victor, he really hates thinking about that moment. . .I hate it too, buddy. (For probably different reasons, but still.) And tensions are about to ramp up even more, as Buford still has to pull his canonical shit. . .

A) The latest Wyrd Sisters podcast -- a special episode on The Color of Magic two-part adaptation! They did a good job of summarizing it and critiquing it -- it's still a fun adaptation, but it has its -- iffy moments. (It WAS made twelve years ago, of course, but still.) But hey, if you want to help get a friend into the Disc, there are worse places to start.

B) The last of the "Wax To Riches" mini-series James put together for early-access Eco Lifestyle gameplay -- it took a lot of dumpster diving, fighting with the fabrication machine (did you know you could end up covered in dye from an explosion on it?), and filling endless freelancer orders, but James Burner and wife managed to afford their crane house! Just in time, too, as a "Try for Baby" last episode meant they were having a kid! They got settled in and promptly set the barbecue on fire. XD At least that meant we could see the fire department in action! . . .Who promptly walked PAST the fire to look at something else. Sims 4 in action, people. Though they DID eventually go and put out the fire. And then Heidi had her baby (whom James named Bobby), and then James aged everyone up in CAS Full Edit Mode to see what Bobby looked like as an adult. (A hippie bro, basically.) And then he left CAS and Heidi and James instantly passed from old age. XD That's ONE way to end the series, I guess! Very much looking forward to his "proper" Bigwallet LP. :)

-->And I've spent most of the rest of my evening catching up on webcomics, tumblr tags, and doing my Victor Luvs Alice and Valice Multiverse queues. Usual stuff. And now it's time to answer the comments in the inbox and head to bed. Yay, it's Friday tomorrow -- and double yay, for unknown reasons we're closing up early! :D Early enough that I don't even have to take a lunch, w000~ Looking forward to getting a head start on my weekend!

But that's tomorrow -- gotta get through tonight first. *nods* Night all!

My Eco Sim set her stove on fire a LOT today. I'm like okay lady you're ordering pizza until your Cooking skill is higher...

*snork* It's lucky that firefighters are now a thing in the game, huh? XD I'd say go dumpster dive for meals, but I'm pretty sure you'd mostly get spoiled food in there. . .

My Sim kept Swiping the damn dumpster! I didn't set her as a Kleptomaniac, so I have no idea what was going on there.

Edit: Oh, not only did she Swipe the dumpster, but she Swiped her own couch!

Edit After Googling: Apparently something to do with the recycling trait? If this is a feature and not a bug, it's sure a piss-poor one. It's a big enough pain to keep track of my Sim when she does it, never mind if NPCs are in on it, too (one player said Father Winter stole their kitchen sink).

O.o That is -- weird. I thought for a second that you'd fallen afoul of the "Sharing Is Caring" Neighborhood Action Plan (in which any items not protected behind a locked door can be swiped by others), but that should PROBABLY preclude a Sim from swiping THEIR OWN stuff. I somehow doubt it's a feature -- or, at least, if it is a feature, it wasn't meant to be implemented like THAT. This game sometimes. . .

(But I have to admit, the mental image of the Sims equivalent to Santa Claus coming over, leaving presents, and then taking your sink as payment IS a bit funny XD)

I've started putting stuff in her inventory just for her to recycle, like the trash bags that get generated after they repair something.

Best use for those trash piles, honestly. Unless you want to use them to sprout trash plants and then make trash fruit fizzy juice. XD (Yes, this is a thing you can do -- James made some bottles.)

I noticed today that a few of her friends passed away, including the Sim who is one of the spell caster teachers. Not the Mischief or the Practical but the lady with the purple hair. No idea what killed her, just all of a sudden her picture in the list of Sims my Sim knows was suddenly a ghost.

Lady with the purple hair -- I think that's L. Faba, who actually IS the Mischief Sage (Practical is Simeon, Untamed is Morgyn). I'm not sure what might have happened there, unless you've got NPC aging on? Though you probably should have gotten an actual message about her passing away from old age or something in that case. . .

Oh, my bad. I'll need to check the aging next time I play. I made a Super Sim next. Cheated all the skills and am doing the aspirations one by one. I know i could cheat them too but hey, need something to do lol.

Heh, it's okay -- and yeah, there's a couple of different aging options, so maybe something's up with that. (I've set mine so my Sims only age when I play them, and others don't age at all.)

LOL -- well, hey, have fun with that! I'd like to do a Super Sim at some point myself. Though I'd be doing it the slow way. XD

Yep, that was it. I turned the aging off for the NPCs cuz that was annoying. :p

Glad you found the problem! And yeah, that's basically how I feel -- I prefer seeing the same faces around my played Sims. :)
