Moody Sunday
Jun. 14th, 2020 10:58 pmYeah, didn't get nearly as much done today as I was hoping, simply because a lot of my mental energy was chewed up by anger over some stupid fucking stuff involving the current pandemic. I just -- is it wrong of me to think that, if you're walking your dog around the neighborhood, you should at least have a mask on-hand for if and when you encounter people? And if you see someone walking their dog, maybe the thing to do in this current situation is not get up close to pet the dog? I dunno, maybe I'm the paranoid asshole here, but. . .
*sigh* Let's not get into it. Here's what I did manage to get done:
-->We played another three rounds of the beanbag game -- I had a couple of strong starts that petered out pretty quickly. Dad once again won all three games, while Mom came second twice and I came second once. Not surprised, really.
-->FINALLY answered that one PM from a friend that's been sitting in my FF.net inbox for ages. Really miss those e-mail updates. . . *sigh*
-->I did some laps around the yard because the weather was pretty nice and I hadn't gotten out in a while. 35 times round, which isn't bad.
-->Made my muffins so I'm good for the next couple of weeks for breakfast, yay.
-->I did at least finish off the OXBox videos I had laying around in my Watch Later:
A) 7 Times You Got To Play As The Final Boss -- including such notable instances as being Darth Vader in The Force Unleashed's first level, or taking over Bowser in Super Mario Odyssey
B) 7 Weird Ways To Level Up -- including constantly being dragged into fights with your favorite frenemy to level up the "Dragon" fighting technique in Yakuza Kiwami, or injecting yourself with the Green Gel in The Evil Within games
C) 2 Ways To Play Hitman 2: The Stowaway -- Jane was on a "murder vacation," so it was up to Andy and Mike to take on the latest reactivated Elusive Target, a journalist infiltrating the party on the island of Sgail! The funny thing was, both of them ATTEMPTED stealth -- but NEITHER of them managed to make a clean kill! Which, yeah, you expect that of MIKE -- he had already murdered three guards before getting a disguise, then his attempt to clear out a room the target, Jimmy, kept trying to infiltrate got him caught and forced him to try ANOTHER disguise -- then Jimmy caught him trying to clear out the room and Mike ended up just shooting him in the end and escaping in a hail of gunfire and flashbangs via helicopter. But ANDY? He was doing well up until the minute he botched subduing Jimmy and end up shooting him in the head -- and was seen doing it by the guards because the door was open. XD He managed to get out with a little more dignity than Mike, but not much -- our normally five-star-rated Assassin got only two stars for this one. XD At least they both completed it!
-->I also watched a video about Eco Lifestyle from Carl's Sims Guides about unexpected gameplay fuckery -- turns out those neighborhood action plans, while cool, can REALLY screw you over. Particularly good old "Sharing Is Caring," because with that one, NPCs will steal things from community lots -- including stuff the lot needs to FUNCTION. (Carl's specific example was a Community Garden that lacked a sink thanks to them being constantly swiped.) Apparently there's also broken code in the game that forgets to check which neighborhoods have WHAT action plans, so NPC Sims can be doing stuff that only applies to DIFFERENT NEIGHBORHOODS. *sigh* Fortunately there are mods to fix the behavior and patch these deficiencies, but damn. Suddenly I'm glad I didn't buy it this weekend. I still want the pack, but -- yeah, maybe I should wait to see what mods I'll need to fix it, first.
-->And now, having finished off my Victor Luvs Alice queue for the next two days, I'm finishing up my Valice Multiverse queue before answering the stuff in my inbox. Usual Sunday night stuff.
So yeah, gonna go finish that, then hit the sheets. Another full week of work looms, lovely. Hopefully it'll be halfway decent and I can get a lot of stuff done. *nods* Night all.
