Too Tired For My Own Good
Jul. 1st, 2020 11:04 pmHad a slow start this morning, which I attribute to a combination of the headache meds I took last night and the fact that I haven't been sleeping great lately (due to The Anxiety (tm) and, last night, tight temples). Didn't help that I woke up at just before 6 AM for no discernible reason. . .managed to get back to sleep for the hour, but still. Ugh. So I am Making An Effort to get off the computer earlier tonight and thus get in BED earlier. At least tonight I don't have the sinus headache. . .
Anyway, since it's already past eleven and I'm hoping to get off by 11:45 at the latest, let's do this thing quickly:
-->Work was busy, with a stressful morning -- had to deal with quite a few demands on my time. But I heard from my coworkers (they're doing okay), so that was nice? And the afternoon wasn't so bad. I got on the remaining checks and whatnot, at least. Now I just have to see about FINALLY clearing out a few of those exceptions bundles. . .
-->Thunderstormy coming home, but it had cleared up enough by the time I got home to still get in a workout, yay~ Though I may have to skip tomorrow simply because I'm running out of bras that are both clean AND dry. XD
-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" -- Alice was going to Kilpatrick's Bail Bonds first, but her Wonderland friends have reminded her of her promise to find Lily, so we're stopping off at the Surfside Diner first instead. Where she's had a brief encounter with a certain redhead who will be important, sidequest-wise, later. . . (Actually, there's a fair number of redheads in this game. Just noticed that. Huh.)
-->YouTube consisted of one thing -- catching up on the latest edition of the Wyrd Sisters Podcast! This month's entry is Soul Music, and -- it actually wasn't that popular in the group! General consensus was it has a lot of great MOMENTS (particularly the climax), but the story as a whole feels a little disjointed, what with juggling Susan's arc and the band's, and could have used another editing pass. Also Black Lives Matter, and a story about rock-n-roll that doesn't really mention the whole "created by black people" aspect is a little iffy these days (though that can be more explained by "written in 1994" than direct malice). I do recall that I didn't really click with Susan when I first read the book, so I more or less agree with their assessment. Still, it is a book of good moments -- and has a ton of great music jokes to boot, sooo. . . XD
-->Got a bit more of my tumblr queue done. . .and a lot of complaining about tumblr's newest dashboard update, because UGH. Seriously -- it looks worse, everything is weirdly bigger, my editable reblogs have broken, and my tracked tags are no longer visible on the side for me to, you know, ACTUALLY TRACK. *facepalm* This is the sort of thing that makes a girl start looking at Pillowfort and the like a little more seriously.
-->And now it's time to finish answering comments and hit the sheets. I dunno if I'll actually fall asleep any earlier, but making the effort and actually lying down in bed will probably have a good effect. I really need to get on a healthier sleep schedule anyway. (Which should probably also include going to bed earlier on weekends, but. . .we'll see how that pans out. :p) Just gotta get through tomorrow and the first half of Friday before work is over for a nice little chunk of time! Night all!
