Yeah, we turned it on for the whole house (meaning my parents turned theirs on in their bedroom, I kept mine on in my bedroom, and we used fans to blow it into the rest of the house) shortly after I woke up today, as it was getting hot quick. The little temperature thing on our front porch reported a temperature of 98F at one point! Now, that thing ALWAYS runs hot, because it's in the path of direct sunshine at one point during the afternoon (and the little sensor is metal), but I don't think it was far off the mark today -- we're on the verge of a heat wave, after all. And tomorrow's supposed to be even hotter. . . So hooray for air conditioning (even if it does dry out my mouth a bit).

Day has been pretty chill -- of course, non-cleaning Saturdays are generally more chill than cleaning ones anyway. :) Here's what I got up to:

-->Had a parfait for breakfast as the granola my mom ordered for me had come in a couple of days ago -- apple, banana, and blueberry with strawberry yogurt and chocolate granola. Quite nice! My one complaint is that it requires me to use a LOT of yogurt, so it's probably for the best I don't have one every week. Still, it's good as an alternate option to the smoothie.

-->Watched quite a few videos on the YouTubes with Victor Plush and Alice Dolly (because I like my dolls and was like "why not?"):

A) Started with a very short but cute little video of Call Me Kevin being goofy and adorable – as he is :)

B) Then a brief digression to see what RT Game was up to now that he's not playing LEGO Harry Potter with Plumbella anymore – turns out he is abusing a Babysitting Mama baby! His is named Gilbert, and not only did he repeatedly shake it, he also burped it with a potato masher, stuffed it into a cooking pot to rock it, stuffed its head into a BLENDER (not on though) – and then entirely changed games and used it in Wii Sports as a tennis racket (not great), a baseball and baseball bat (surprisingly good!), and a bowling ball (decent). Suddenly Kevin drop-kicking Kevin Jr. is almost sweet. XD

C) Speaking of Kevin, I had a few videos from him to watch:

1. Elmo's Number Journey – yes, Kevin decided to play an ancient edutainment game starring Elmo from Sesame Street, which consists of three minigames where you have to find certain numbers, followed by bonus rounds where you have to throw the correct number of balls into a clown's mouth. ...Learning! XD Kevin got through it with his typical snark and a lot of references to the characters being coked out of their gourds. XD

2. More of the new soft reboot of Sims 4 starring Jim and Turg! Jim's back up to his old tricks, by which I mean he moved into another household (sending their youngest to go live with Turg), started setting all their stuff on fire, stole as much as he could in both insurance money and items (and urns, as two members of the family died in said fires), then moved out again when it turned out none of them had won the lottery. XD Classic Jim! Now his new target is the woman who DID actually win the lottery, Emily Stiles, who lives in one of the apartment blocks. Jim didn't make a GREAT first impression, unfortunately, but when has that ever stopped him? He did get SOMEWHAT punished for his actions by Turg setting their own barbecue on fire the moment he got back home, and by getting his toilet repossessed after not paying his bills – but then he sold a $2,000 fish at a yard sale and was able to get a new toilet and a cauldron for magic purposes. XD And so the chaos continues. . .

3. And finally, Kevin reacts to Irish Tik-Toks! (If you don't know what that is, it's a short video site in the same vein as Vine, only you can do somewhat longer stuff.) They are – largely centered around driving tractors while playing popular songs (until the ploughing championships are canceled); leading around or otherwise looking at cows (who are often absolute units); and having Jesus in every room in your house (non-Irish people can't relate!). Poor Kevin was both badly confused and badly desiring a tractor by the end. Me – I just had to go and find those Tik Toks Gray made and some other YouTuber kindly put up to watch again. XD

D) A quick "hey hens this is how I'm feeling" video from Plumbella – poor girl has got her own Anxiety (tm) from everything that's happening in 2020, compounded by the fact that something apparently pretty awful happened to her in August of last year (she doesn't feel comfortable saying what), sooo, yeah. But she's working on getting therapy for it, and she doesn't plan to stop making videos, though she does plan to slow down and go back to like a "three a week" schedule. Offered my sympathies in the comments, because – well. I think a lot of us are in roughly the same boat when it comes to 2020 Anxiety (tm).

E) A mod showcase from onlyabidoang, showing off a CC bunk bed made by "PandaSama Sims 4 CC." It's pretty neat – not only do you have separate bedding and frames so you can recolor each how you like, the bottom and top bunks are different pieces, so you can do regular bunk beds or a loft bed with something else under it (onlyabidoang got pretty wild about showing off what you could shove under there!). There's also a patron-exclusive (for now) version that has shelving, and the creator has indicated they'll be making a version that's child and toddler friendly in the future (the current one is apparently "too high" for kids). Also they made an adorable working rocking horse that I had to pick up. XD So that was cool!

F) And another Sims 4 building video from good old James Turner – this time, going back to tiny homes now that he has the ability to use ladders instead of stairs. Made a two-story four-by-four cube (for a total of 32 tiles), added a bunch of weird little details with columns and walls and whatnot, and made a pretty nice tiny home with a bathroom and combined kitchen/dining/living area on the bottom (even making his own TV/radio/bookcase cabinet via resizing and move objects on, since he decided to make the build base game and Eco Lifestyle only), and a nice bedroom with a full double bed and dresser, mirror, and planter up top! He even found a nice little glitch/feature with the fences where he could get unbroken slats between a bunch of half walls, which probably made him happier than he should have been. XD But it turned out very cool, and I'm looking forward to more builds in this vein.

Of course, this means I didn't get to either OXBox or Linkara today. . .have to catch up with them tomorrow instead!

-->Played some Sims 4 myself -- had a building day! I wanted to partially renovate the Brown household now that they've got a baby on the way, and build them a space where they can do magic, much like they've got their basement science lab. What I did was:

1. Made the ground floor bathroom a little smaller and put Nikal's Winterfest present (a decorative ottoman with a towel on it) in there

2. Removed the old gym they had next to it and converted it to a kid's room, complete with the spellcaster bassinet because, well, they're Spellcasters, they're entitled XD

3. Updated the kitchen with a new, bigger dining table

4. Bought a pre-fab laundry room out of the "Styled Rooms" section that I liked the look of and put the washer and dryer from the old combined basement laundry/bathroom into that room, which I then moved into its place

5. Turned the old combined bathroom/laundry into a lab bathroom, with the new shower Emmett got from work and an appropriately sciencey-looking sink

6. Updated all the windows in the house so I could add curtains to them (there are no good curtains for the smallest-sized windows, I swear!)

7. Built a new tiny gym in the basement at the other end of the basement hall (rearranging the woodworking bench to fit a door) for their treadmill and punching bag

8. Built a small second-story room and connected it to the main downstairs hall via the new ladder we got with the base game update patch for Eco Lifestyle (also, I should really get that pack now; there's a sale going on and it's 25% off already!), then turned that room into a magic den complete with cauldron and fancy bug lights and a desk with a journal (since they already have THREE computers)

9. Reroofed the house -- probably poorly, but it's hard to see how they should all join up when it's snowing! I never claimed I was good at roofs

So yeah -- still have to make a couple of tweaks here and there, but now they have a magic "attic," a room for their upcoming bundle of joy, and a proper laundry and gym! I will be sure to share when I put up the pictures on tumblr. :)

-->Revised my gift fic that's going up this Wednesday -- it is now in good, postable shape, and should hit all the beats that the tumblr friend it is for requested. Fingers crossed he likes it!

-->Updated my queue for Victor Luvs Alice through Tuesday and answered all the questions I had on Valice Multiverse

And now I'm currently poking through tumblr tags before answering comments, like I do. :P It's nice to be in a reasonably good mood for a change, honestly. Still wish my damn period would just rear its ugly head already, admittedly -- I feel like it should have shown up already? Ah well, I'm keeping a close eye on that. . .

Anyway! Off to do comment updates and whatnot. Plan for tomorrow -- well, I have to make muffins, simply because I need breakfasts for the work week. But on the fun side, I want to catch up on OXBox and Linkara, do some more mod testing in Fallout 4, and work some more on "Secundus 2" Chapter 10. It's going pretty well, and I want to keep up with it.

But first, some water, as I be thirsty. Night all!

While I'm trying to rewrite the AL-Reunites-With-Erik story I figured out that her Sims 4 house needed supports on the porch for the upper floor since otherwise it looks very precarious. I only re-took like two pictures for my post since it overall doesn't matter, lol.
