Took Advantage of Quiet IMing
Jan. 23rd, 2005 04:34 pmAnd played some StrangeTown Sims. The Brown family, naturally. Thursday, Marty was the first up, studying his cooking skill. He got the point (fulfilling a want), then greened up in preparation for school. I'm having him work on another painting so he can sell another Masterpiece. The adults gradually woke uneasily, thinking about their break-in from last time. Doc greened, while I set Lorraine to work out. She got close to a body skill point, but quit because she needed a bath. No matter -- if she gets a "earn a skill point want," I'll just have her finish that one. George eventually woke up and greened too, chatting and doing some dancing with Doc. I was pleased to see them so friendly.
-D: O.o Dancing?-
Ah, come on, who doesn't like to groove? You guys also shared a dirty joke and cheered Lorraine on at the piano. She needs a creativity point to advance in her career, so she'll be playing whenever she can. Doc also received a call from Clara, which is nice. Lorraine went to work as Marty came home and did most of his homework. He had to move to make room for George, and I decided he should work more on his painting and call his friend Tina, who he hasn't seen in a while. Lorraine got a chance card -- expand her restaurant business into theme parks or airports? I chose theme parks, but it turned out to be the bad choice, and the family lost 30,000 simoleons.
-M: Eeek! What was Mom thinking? What were you thinking?-
I like theme parks! Besides, not like you can't bounce back quickly. Three out of the four family members have steady work and good salaries. Plus there's medicine-making and your masterpieces.
-M: Good point. I guess -- well, a loss of 30,000 dollars in the real world would be devestating.-
-VM: Not in my former family.-
-M: *disgusted* Yeah, but that bastard had money coming out of his ass.-
-VM: *also disgusted* Unfortunately. Tell me again how he waxes cars for a living in your world?-
-M2: I can do better, he's dead by now in mine.-
-M: Tell us about that.-
Anyway, Lorraine brought home her usual salary, and she and Doc talked before bedtime (George was at work, and an exhausted Marty had retired early). They're getting closer, which is good. :)
Friday, after Marty had greened up and gotten to school, the adults greened. Doc had Mysteria over, she brought General Buzz. Buzz tried dancing with Lorraine, but that didn't go over well and I sent him away so George and Lorraine could be together. Doc and Mystie flirted and kissed before parting.
-VD: *big grin*-
Doc made lunch for all, and gained himself another cooking point, fulfilling a want. Marty brought home his pal Ophelia, which was good -- the mere act of meeting her at school catapulted their relationship up. :) He told her a joke and sent her along. After some more work on his masterpiece, Marty asked George if he could go out. George said yes, and Marty called up his pal Tiffany to earn some relationship points before they hung out that night. George made medicine and netted more cash for the family. Marty went out with Tiff at eight. George was supposed to make salmon, but yelled at me to clear a countertop, then forgot about it. He and Lorraine flirted, and then he decided to have Lobster Thermidor instead. Doc got another body point (stopping midway to bathe and pee), and he and Lorraine went to bed. George ate and went to bed as well. Marty returned at midnight, exhausted and hungry. I had him cook George's forgotten salmon and eat it before heading to bed as well.
-D: Sounds like a productive couple of days.-
Yup, although Marty and Lorraine need to work on their relationship. I'll do that next time I play them. And even though they lost some money, they still had enough to afford the fancy new telescope. I've written down my goals for each family, and one for the Strangetown Browns is to get George or Doc abducted. :D
-M: Still going to see if you can get me into private school?-
Yup. And once you guys recover a little more, I'm creating a den/lab area for the stuff currently smooshed into the bedroom and kitchen/dining room. Your house does need to be a tad bigger.
-M: Yeah, really.-
Those of you who watch the news probably know that the Northern States got hit by something of a blizzard last night. Down here we got about 15 inches of snow on the average, but the drifts can be up to four feet high. And we've got a lot of snow blowing around, making it hard to drive. We're in a state of emergency right now.
-D: *concerned* A state of emergency. I do NOT like the sound of that.-
Don't worry, we're cool as long as we stay in and off the roads. The threat of a power outage (pretty real last night) is over, so that's good. Practically all the schools have closed for tomorrow too, including URI.
-VD2: Because of the roads?-
Basically.
-VD2: Good. More time for you to work on fanfiction.-
:p Yes, I suppose so. By the way, has anyone seen DocWolf or MiniDamosCrawler?
-D: MDC's outside, making snow demons. I warned him the snow's deep, but he seems to be doing all right, especially for some of his miniscule stature.-
*MDC bimfs onto Doc's head and dumps snow down the back of his shirt*
-D: Great Scott, that's COLD! Bad MDC, bad!-
*MDC just cackles and disappears*
-D: I submit a petition he be deprived of waffles.-
Done.
-VD: As for DocWolf, he's sleeping by one of the furnace grates. I can't fathom why, he has all that fur.-
Like Calvin said, maybe it's just for decoration.
-DW: *sleepy yell* Then how come you insist on warming your feet under me?-
