A Very Windy Sunday
Aug. 30th, 2020 11:01 pmI mean, like SUPER windy. I'm not sure why (other than "more leftovers from the remnants of Laura"), but it was BLOWING. Couldn't open my windows all the way because otherwise I'd be assaulted by my curtains! But at least it was a decent temperature and sunny -- very good early fall weather, essentially. Which makes sense, as it is the end of August. . .
Anyway! Pretty typical Sunday, at least in terms of stuff I got done:
-->Usual mucking about reading TV Tropes and tumblr blogs before lunch -- you know how it goes, at least for me.
-->Played the beanbag game after lunch -- Dad won all three games, and I came second all three times. Though most of them were pretty close -- Dad won the first game by one point over me! So that was nice, I guess. :p At least I can say I have definitely gotten better at this!
-->Caught up on the stuff in my Watch Later for YouTube today:
A) Starting off with Call Me Kevin and:
1. Alpha Protocol, one of those Steam games he purchased but never actually did anything with, which everyone started recommending to him once they saw it on his list. Kevin promptly made a horrible jerkwad of a badass: super-aggressive and sarcastic in all conversations, runs into everything with no plan, and is horrible at shooting but a master of Kevwando, the martial art that focuses on beating up tranquilized enemies right in front of you. XD It was a fun ride, to be sure!
2. Nintendogs, the puppy simulator! :D Kevin picked up a golden retriever (which he ended up naming Goldfish), and proceeded to muck around hilariously: playing "make the food disappear" a few times (and then selling all the remainder to the second-hand store), accidentally bonking him with a tennis ball while playing, and – best of all – making a random noise for "sit" while training tricks, only to discover HE COULDN'T GET OUT OF TRAINING UNLESS HE MADE THAT EXACT SAME NOISE AGAIN. XD And then "Dear Leader" became "left paw shake." XD Basically we all had a lot of fun with the new puppy, and I hope he appears again.
3. Crusader Kings 3, which is a sponsored video from Paradox Interactive featuring him and the Irish Lads! Everyone took on the role of a king, and alliances and enemies were born! Kevin picked the King of Norway the first time, and managed to take RT out completely after RT foolishly started a war with him. Then the boys tried dividing up Ireland itself – Kevin took the kingdom of Munster, ended up conquering the entire lower chunk of Ireland and part of WALES, then lost his original kingdom while scheming with his friends to murder the king of England, and eventually (with RT's help PLAYING as the king) succeeded in marrying his son Rat Boy to the widowed queen, becoming King-Consort (which counts as a win in his eyes!). It was hilarious, especially with the others being absolutely baffled at how Kevin was doing so well in his campaigns. XD Hey, if it involves conquest and torture, it is Kevin's JAM!
B) Brief break in the action for a ProZD video about shipping – mainly, how just conversing can spark some people to go "oh, those two characters be fuckin'." XD Mood – well, sort of. I don't even need my OTP to canonically speak, given that it's a crossover. XD
C) And then it was onto GrayStillPlays, with:
1. Microsoft Flight Simulator, a game where you're supposed to just fly planes and enjoy the scenery! . . .Gray discovered "wind layers" and promptly starting battering the aircraft with as much wind as possible, trying to create homemade tornadoes and hurricanes. XD That's our Gray for you! The best part was when the game started glitching out because there are some bits you're just expected NOT to land in. Also he managed to freeze the ocean once. I know, I was impressed too!
2. More Sims 4, this time with trapping 100 Sims underground, deaging them to children, and then seeing who makes it to elderhood. After a mass die-off in the teen years from starvation, we had exactly ONE Sim complete their life cycle, an evil bastard who likes to clean. XD As per usual, he is going to be welcomed into the Man family – I suggested "Vault Dweller" for his name as this whole mess reminded me of a Fallout vault. XD Also, Spleens had another kitten, Blue Cheese, and is also now available in plush form! So that's something, right? :D
3. And more Happy Wheels, because there are always more harpoons to get up the butt. Especially now that people have started making levels FOR Gray to play, featuring such things as secret spike pits and areas where multiple clones of young Tom Hardy can be smashed to paste with a wrecking ball. XD Also there was a bus-driving level all about crushing your enemies under your tires, and Gray mentioned that he used to drive a school bus. ...You might imagine that's doing WEIRD THINGS to my head right about now. XD
-->Played some Fallout 4 -- "Tales of the Commonwealth" and some of its various fixes and patches went in today! Got to experience some of its content right away too, with a raider gang that's holed up in Belcher's Cave. They're pulling a "hey, come save this hurt person" scam to lure in the rubes, but they're scripted to be reasonably friendly to the Sole Survivor so you can join the gang if you want. I took one look around the place, with all its rotting corpses hung up everywhere, told the leader to go fuck himself, and killed everyone in the area. Which was -- easier than expected, given a) it seems to take a LOT to aggro these guys and b) I have a very good sniper rifle and was able to pull of some pretty nice headshots. I also killed a bunch of vanilla raisers holed up at the Federal Stockpile, because they were on the way -- concerningly, there's a whole bunch of raiders and raider outposts next to the Sunshine Tidings settlement! I'm surprised they haven't been attacked yet. . .anyway, things seem to be working pretty well -- I have maybe one or two small mods I've come across recently that I want to add in, then the final big weather mod, and then -- then we should be golden for the new, "official" playthrough!
-->Wrote some more on Chapter 13 of "Secundus 2" -- filling in what's happened in the time skip to Alice having the baby via everyone chatting while she does. Victor's doing his best not to be a total bundle of nerves, but it's hard, poor guy. Don't worry, Victor, I can guarantee she pulls through. :)
-->And now I'm just wrapping up my queueing on Valice Multiverse (nearly forgot a thread! I really hate the new way we get notified about activity, it doesn't work very well), getting ready to answer the DW comment, and then heading to bed. More work tomorrow. Yay. *sigh* Just gotta get through the week, and then I have a three day weekend. . .hopefully three-and-a-half, fingers crossed. Night all.
