crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)

Fun in the sarcastic sense, of course -- it was something of a day at work. The GL is experiencing lots of fun new issues, we've got all sorts of requests coming from Fiscal, people calling in, one of my coworkers had to leave early because of dizziness (fortunately she works on the other side of the office). . . *sigh* And here's me being happy because I woke up at 6:30 instead of 6, and managed to half-get back to sleep for the final half-hour before my alarm. . .

Anyway. Running a bit behind, so very quick wrap-up of my afternoon:

-->Got in another workout, so keeping up with the routine is going well

-->Wrote some more on "Londerland Bloodlines" (back on my regular schedule, yay) -- Alice has figured out the paintings puzzle and slashed them appropriately. . .aaaand summoned the Blood Guardian. Poor girl is in for a bit of a boss fight! At least given her status as Main Character, she can't die to it. . .

-->It was an OXBox/OXtra marathon on YouTube today, featuring:

1. Seven Obscure Zelda Games Nintendo Wants You To Forget – yes, the CD-i "masterpieces" were mentioned. Twice, in fact – they covered everyone's favorite meme cartoons at the beginning, and the FMV live-action mess at the end. Sandwiched in-between were a lot of Japanese-only titles (including a Zelda game that was apparently broadcast like a TV show??) and some baffling handheld where you scanned barcodes to simulate battles between heroes and monsters. (Well, simulate may be a generous word – all you saw on-screen were a bunch of numbers.) Also, a shooting game where Link had an automatic crossbow. Certainly lends credence to the whole "he's secretly the Doom Marine" theory, huh?

2. Seven Games That Made Fun Of The Haters – Diablo III too cartoony for you? We'll throw in a whole Whimsyville level full of rainbows and unicorns! Don't like Dante's new look in the DMCreboot? Here's a shot of him with a white wig on and going "not in a million years!" Want more lore out of Five Nights At Freddy's? Mr. Hippo here is going to LECTURE you to death rather than actually eat your face. You will be begging for him to eat your face. (Well, I won't – I, uh, just LISTENED to that bit rather than watch all the jumpscares. Gotta sleep tonight!)

3. Seven Games That Proved Frying Pans Are The Best Weapons – yes, seriously. To be fair, they tend to be very solid melee options wherever they appear – hell, the Fable one comes with 100 damage and four slots to upgrade it! The Left 4 Dead one definitely has the best noise, though. Thwonk thwonk XD

4. Seven Weirdest Things People Have Played Video Games On – Tetris on a building! Doom on an upright piano! Quake on an oscilloscope! People have done some weird and wild things with their games and gaming consoles. I'm actually quite impressed with the guy who figured out how to hook up Death Stranding to a treadmill, so your walking speed on the treadmill translates to your character's in the game. Figure out a way to combine that with VR and you're golden!

-->And I just caught up on tumblr stuff, so it's time to answer DW comments and hit the sack. Ugh. . .well, maybe tomorrow will be a bit better. You never know, right? I mean, admittedly, the weather is forecast to be shit, but -- what can one do. . .besides hope lightning hits my work and shorts out everything so I can stay home tomorrow. :p Night all!
